On Friday, May 31st, my friend and I visited Trail Dust Town. We bought tickets to the gun show and were there on time. My friend decided to sit in the front row and I sat with her. I did not like the show. Mistakenly, I thought it would be gun tricks, not a āshoot āem upā type of show, and I was quickly overwhelmed by the noises and content of the show. Several children around me were visibly upset by the show, wearing earplugs and giant headphones. I do NOT think this show is appropriate for children and I was appalled at the parents who were refusing to take their obviously scared children out of the show. During the first 15 minutes, the guys in the show kept trying to involve my friend and me, visibly calling us out when we didnāt laugh, saying it was a ātough crowdā and gesturing to me and my friend, even though there were at least 50 people at the show, and other people laughed. This happened a couple more times, and then I leaned over to quietly ask my friend if she wanted to leave. She agreed, and, as paying customers, we got up and walked out with zero fanfare. Or so I thought. The male actors then decided to call us out for leaving, asking why and saying we would miss the best part. Other parents had left and no one said a word. āIām not entertained,ā I said back, and we kept walking. The actors then roused the crowd in all LOUDLY booing us as we left, and as the door closed on us, the actors yelled, āGood riddance!ā and we heard the entire crowd cheering and clapping behind us. I have traveled the entire world and have NEVER encountered being treated like this by actors in a show in my entire life. As a woman, it also felt INCREDIBLY threatening, and knowing a group of men led a crowd to boo and cheer you just for walking out of a podunk, ridiculous, terrible excuse for āentertainmentā gave me anxiety for two days. This place was a disappointment and a complete waste of $10. Tell your actors to work on their craft and maybe people wonāt walk out of their show....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner, his daughter and I went to Trail Dust Town over the weekend and we had a great time. I didn't even know this place existed but I found it listed in a Tucson travel magazine. I'm glad I did.
Upon arrival, we went into this awesome German chocolate shop. Y'all it smelled so good in there. They even had homemade ice cream that looked so good. We did make some candy purchases.
Walking around we saw wagons, a fake jail to take pics and other fun stores like the magic shop. This entire town is inside of Tucson, but everything is western. I've never experienced anything like this before, but we said we would go back at some point as we wanted to eat in the restaurant there. I'm not a big BBQ fan, but y'all it smelled so tasty.
We walked around to just see what the town was like. There were other families out enjoying as well. We even saw some guys with cowboy costumes on and guns on their hips. They were apart of the evening show we checked out and it was so funny. It was very fun and had sound effects and stunts the guys were doing. The sound effects were loud and they gave out headsets for the kiddos so they wouldn't get scared This was amazing as I'd never seen anything like this before.
The entry into Trail Dust Town is free, but you will need to pay for the shows and fun shooting games or anything else you'd want to enjoy. We paid $8 per person to see the show. If you don't want to buy anything you don't have to. Just go and enjoy and take plenty of pictures.
This place is family friendly and wheelchair accessible. There's plenty of places to do selfies and take pics. You will not be disappointed with this hidden gem...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe used to come often and we are completely disappointed by the their Not Too Frightful Friday tonight. We attended a few big events in the past but this one was the worst. We paid for unlimited wristbands but we didn't get any rides because the lines were so long (we waited in line for 30 min and no end in sight, got yelled at by a security because we were trying keep the kids entertained by showing them the lights, and we left). They only had train ride and ferris wheel. The Merry Go Round š was gutted. I would rather pay a fee to enter at least to have some trick or treat stations out in the open for kids, like Boo at the Zoo. People were all crowding the main sections while some areas were so dark and empty. The water fountain area could have been decorated with lights and some outdoor games or a maze for kids to play with, this could have helped with the flow of the guests while providing more entertainment. This place could have been more brightened up and festive with just some solar power lights around the trees and other areas and they can run all year around. It also seemed short staffed and chaotic. At least they had put a bit more effort and manpower into their Happy Potter/ Magic event last year. This place has so much potential and I feel like it's just half assing now, just like many places in Tucson because competitions are so far and few. There's why lots of people came tonight, there's no much to do (kids friendly events) here in Tucson on a Friday night when you have...
