I’m probably the last person you’d assume actually works-out at a crossfit gym so take this review as advice for any of you guys on the fence about doing crossfit. Telos is the perfect place to set a foundation for confidence. I don’t look like an athlete and I never had that experience in the past so it took a lot of courage to sign up and I’m glad I did.
Environment: Fellow members and staff are friendly and supportive. Telos is a judgment free zone that offers 100% encouragement towards your fitness goals. This was a big deal for me. I owe my confidence to the contagious uplifting vibe everyone brought to the workouts.
Equipment: For a germaphobe like me, the gym is noticeably clean. The equipment is constantly sanitized, new, and well kept. The entire gym is professionally cleaned regularly after gym hours which is great to know since a lot of sweating goes down during classes.
Trainers: Safety over reps is always emphasized. One of the reasons crossfit gets a bad wrap is because of the competitive nature of completing a workout in record time sometimes leading to injuries. This is not the case at Telos. All of the trainers are certified and have extensive knowledge about movements, form, and your personal limits. Class instructors take the time to ensure we are working out properly at all times and you genuinely become friends with them.
As an outsider offering zero bias, come see for yourself. You will amaze yourself with the accomplishments...
Read moreAs a fitness and outdoor enthusiast, I have always been very active… until things changed. Pregnancy, injury, and aging transpired to a busy working mother in chronic pain. I have always worked on my fitness and what once worked was no longer yielding results.
I came across Telos and decided to give their free class a try. I knew I had nothing to lose. Though I survived the class, I was worried that I reinjure myself by going to hard, too fast. I decided I needed professional help. I swallowed my pride and signed up right away. Started with 30 minute sessions twice a week and slowly built up to 3 times a week for 1 hour. After 8 weeks, I’m stronger, finally pain free, and I can do moves I have been unable to do in 8+ years!
It still plan on joining the regular group classes but I am enjoying the personalized sessions. My trainer has my ability in mind and knows just how far I can go and pushes me a little further.
I even signed my son up for the teen performance class and I love how it’s given him more confidence in competitive swim and soccer. He feels stronger and when he plays against the “big kids”, he no longer shys away.
It can be scary trying new things but this gym is absolutely NOT intimidating. I love my hour in the gym because it’s 1 hour I am dedicating to myself without distraction. I love that it’s just me, my trainer, and good music. Everything else can wait.

Read moreI moved to Tucson a bit more than a year ago, and started at Telos because my wife's cousin was a member and he told me it was great. I'd been doing CrossFit for about 3 years, something I started at his recommendation, so I figured I would give it a go.
Telos has turned out to be better than I could have possibly hoped. To start, the programming is top notch. All of the coaches are cross-trained in a variety of training modalities, and they bring all of that to bear in the classes they teach. But beyond that, there's top-notch nutrition coaching, and on Saturday mornings a mobility class with a PT Doc. Having access to all that for my normal group class membership is a HUUUUGE value add.
For me though, the most important part of Telos is the community. Moving to Tucson for the first time and having no real social circle to speak of outside my wife's family, Telos has been incredibly welcoming and open and has allowed me to meet and become friends with a variety of people I never would have had the opportunity to know, including Shaun and Karen the owners.
If you're looking for a great place to train, learn, and grow, you couldn't do better than Telos in Tucson.
(As an aside, my last coach before moving to Tucson was a multi-times CF Games competitor, who also has in-laws in Tucson, and when she works out in town, she does it at Telos. So if it's good enough for one of the best in the game, it's good...
