THIS IS A GREAT GYM FOR SERIOUS LIFTERS and people who want to learn martial arts, other than that, check out other gyms.
Pros:
First of, IF YOURE INTO SERIOUS LIFTING and want to workout in an environment that has old school heavy weights, this is the place for you!
Lots of variety of equipment and from what I've seen theirs some meh trainers but some REALLY LEGIT WELL TRAINED third party trainers.
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MATIAL ARTS the people in those classes seem to really enjoy them self and like it. I can't speak of the quality of the classes because I have no experience in martial arts but they seem fun, people who do it seem happy.
Most staff are friendly.
Little to no wait time to use equipment compared to other gyms which is a huge plus.
CONS: This place stinks like dirty weights, unshaved genitals and sweat. Every time I'd come home my girlfriend said I had a terrible stench (maybe I just worked out that hard)
It's HOT, I don't think theirs ac in there (good way to save money) and when that mixes with a dirty smell, you get a pretty unpleasant smell and experience (HOWEVER, THEY DO HAVE THE CLEANEST BATHROOMS IVE EVER BEEN IN, but once you walk out the bathroom, it's WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE).
IF YOURE INTO BOXING THIS IS NOT THE GYM FOR YOU, unless you're a flyweight boxer then you're fine. The heaviest bag weighs about 50lb and they have about 10 of those. If you want to practice hitting heavy bags you have a better chance hitting the trees outside.
IF YOUR MAIN PRIORITY IS CARDIO OR USING TREADMILLS go somewhere else, theirs only about 2 treadmills here. Goodluck
IF YOU CARE ABOUT A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT go somewhere else, you better come prepared to workout hard at this gym and smell your effort the next week or month.
OVERALL: I honestly and sincerely believe this is a great gym if you care about lifting weights and having good old school equipment or want to join a martial arts class and belong to a big family. I really enjoyed that part.Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the places was terrible, the smell was terrible. Although my main goal when I joined this gym was to only lift weights I really wish they had heavier punching/hitting bags.In the end I wouldn't bring my family here. If this place was clean I'd easily give it 5 stars,...
Read moreI'm slightly surprised about the two bad reviews I read on this gym as I've had nothing but an amazing experience here. I moved to Tucson about two years ago, shortly after separating from the Marine Corps. I came to Coach David Really and Team Undisputed as an extreme novice in jiu jitsu, and the coaches in this gym have fostered my athletic development unlike any place I've ever been. Despite a serious chronic injury that affects my thoracic mobility, coach David Reilly molded me into a competitive grappler, and gave me the confidence to compete in the 2016 IBJJF No Gi World Championships where I ended up winning my first world championship at adult heavyweight blue belt. We had another man do this same thing this year after only training with coach Reilly and our stable of brown and black belts for about a year. Aside from the amazing coaching, this gym has great energy. Like many of you reading this, I'm extremely busy with my education and work demands. My only real social outlet is Undisputed. The community in this gyms treats everyone who walks through the door like they're family. Coach David brings in the best instructors from around the country. For example today, we had 14 black belts on the mat, including the legendary Shawn Hammonds and Nicholas Gregoriades. All of this notwithstanding, this gym still has one of the best weight rooms in Tucson. The weightlifting area has that gritty old-school feel that motivates you to do one more rep. If you're even slightly interested in starting to train, come here. You...
Read moreThis gym is terrible. I had a friend join in July and in August they found out that he was being transfered by his job 2000 miles away. He spoke with someohisin person and was told the membership would be cancelled he just needed proof of the move. He provided that. It is November and they are still charging him. He as spoken to staff at the gym every week since september and he gets the same story. "No problem we will cancel' and everything is taken care of but its not. They keep trying to take money and they message him. When he calls back his is told that the employee he spoke to was fired and didnt take any noteis and that they have never received documentation of the move although it was provided 3 times...once by me personally after my friend moved. I went in and talked to Mike. I gMikea copy of the required paper work to Mike who said he would give it to owner Dave but now...they dont have anything on record. Dave is always teaching a class when you call or stop in and can never talk but he is the only one who can do a cancellation. This is a shady business. Stay away. There arw other boxing gyms in Tucson. My friend is still trying to get them to stop taking money for something...
