Center 1 — Attraction in Tulsa

We had a very unpleasant experience. We parked several blocks away on the street, walked through the parking lot, and had the parking lot attendant come up to us demanding to know where we were going. My fiancé is a private person and told him that it was none of his business. He then begins lecturing us that we are not allowed to park there. We explained we parked several blocks away, and he just talks over us with threats instead of listening. He then added “I’ll be waiting for you to finish dinner at Mondos and then I’ll follow you to your car.” How is someone who behaves like this working for and representing the businesses at this location? This is disturbing.

We never told him we were dining at Mondos. I told him he was being aggressive. He proceeds to tell me that he’s going to video me cussing him out. I never used any profanity or raised my voice despite him being very emotional and causing a scene. I feel very uncomfortable ever shopping or dining in this area as long as this guy is working there. If he was actually doing his job he would have known that we did not drive our car into this small parking lot that he was supposedly guarding. I was literally chased down by an extremely rude parking attendant when I parked in the church parking lot west of Center 1on a weekday evening. He ran up to my car with his clipboard and threatened to tow my car - even though there is no sign claiming the church is private property - (the church lot has always been open parking when there isn’t a church service.) Many of the businesses in center 1 were closed and it’s a weeknight. Then he called the security guard and they proceeded to block the way out. To top it off, I had my baby with me and he could see that I was trying to corral an infant and was still beyond rude and distasteful. I have been a longtime customer of many of the center 1 businesses from the very beginning and to be threatened like this was absolutely disgusting. The wife and I have visited several of the businesses in this shopping area over the years. Never again. This evening, 8/27/22, we parked in the area just west of Center 1. As we were walking to Mondo’s, an incredibly rude parking attendant confronted us and said we had to move as where we had just parked was still Center 1 parking.

Fair enough. My mistake. As I turn way to walk towards my car to move it, this parking attendant starts lecturing me about private property and continues MOUTHING OFF to me as I’m literally walking to my car to comply with his request to move it. He then proceeds to stare me down as I’m driving off the lot.

I’m not sure what kind of property would hire someone like that to interact with the public, but it’s certainly not one I want to...
