I have to say that I was so excited to have my wedding at the beautiful Dresser Mansion. This quickly turned into a nightmare. Unfortunately, on the day of our wedding with a time slot from 10a.m.-12p.m. Charlie the owner booked others to view the mansion from 10a.m.-11a.m. I actually told him I did not mind if it was a quick tour in and out 30 minutes...that tour of people went on from 10 a.m.-1p.m.!!! I was so upset because none of our tables were set up like we had been told they would be, the chairs for the ceremony outside were not set up...everything was such a mess. Not to mention someone else's decor from their wedding was in the entry way of the mansion blocking two important tables we needed to use. We asked for his assistance multiple times and unfortunately he proceeded to give his attention to his guests he was showing the venue to on OUR wedding day that we PAID for. Also, a guest was seated for dinner and his chair completely broke from under him...and he wasn't a large man if that's what you are thinking. Beware of the dresser mansion!! I tried to reach out to them after the wedding to discuss how upset I was before posting on social media and Google...but they ghosted me. Their are multiple cosmetic issues in the mansion as well such as broken windows and it needs some work. Think before you book here people. It is beautiful and Charlie seems so nice, but he tells pretty little lies! Wedding...
Read moreThe Dresser Mansion is a beautiful venue for both an outside and indoor wedding or event. It could use a little TLC-outside needs to be power washed and painted, and the drapes updated (they are original to the time period)or cleaned. The courtyard, etc. is lovely-well maintained and nice flowers/hedges. It is great for pictures and lots of space for everyone to get ready. If you do use the kitchen beware that almost NOTHING is provided except fridge , stove and ovens, and microwave. That means you will need everything from oven mitts, salt, pepper, condiments, utensils to cook with and serve items, even cleaning cloths, Dawn, etc. I'm not sure about the broom and dustpan, but I didn't see any. There are some glass vases that we had to use as pitchers, so you really need to be prepared if you're cooking for the event there. Charlie is super helpful and a nice guy. He made sure he was available, but out of the way and helped move the ceremony from the outside to inside due to rain. The downstairs is great for cocktails, etc. You'll need to provide coolers, ice, etc. Overall, it is a...
Read moreI fell in love with the Dresser Mansion the minute we toured it! We absolutely loved it as our wedding venue. It's beautiful and historic and perfect! The owner, Charlie, is really personable and friendly, as well as accommodating to your needs as a bride/host (although sometimes difficult to get a hold of). He was able to work with me last minute to make major changes to layout because of a reduced number of attendees (COVID-19 cuts!). The venue is gorgeous and mostly well maintained. The bridal and grooms suites were a perfect place to gather and get ready before the wedding!
The only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 is that because the owner is there the whole time (a good thing!) and they do back-to-back-to-back weekend weddings (we were married on a Sunday), things weren't totally set up/ready for us when we arrived. I was planning to do set up myself with some family and had only set aside an hour. If you book Dresser, I would suggest you give yourself extra time to decorate or designate that to a non-bridal party member!
Otherwise, a lovely and perfect...
