I was just at Moody's at Harvard and 11th. The experience I had there today was just......weird. I stopped in to have a watch battery replaced. I gave my watch to one salesperson, and stood by the counter waiting for it. The other salesperson, started chatting with me. First it was innocuous enough, we exchanged pleasantries, she asked me a few questions about myself, I told her where I was from and told her where I worked nearby. The salesperson, Coleen, told me she had "clients" that worked there and dropped their names and asked if I knew them. I said I didn't and that I'd only been working there a few months. At this point she started texting one of her "clients" asking for my full name and inquiring to the "client" if they know me. All this while I'd been moving away from the salesperson, because I was finding her grilling more than a little obnoxious. I said to her, "This feels like you are checking out my story". Coleen barely registered that I had spoken. I was honestly not sure if the salesperson didn't believe my story about where I worked, or if her grasp on boundaries and social cues was somewhat suspect. Eventually, out of frustration and a very profound desire to end contact with this person, I showed her my work ID, and walked away from her. I was deeply relieved when the other salesperson returned with my watch. I couldn't get out of there, and away from Coleen, fast enough. I had positive experiences there multiple times before, and I'm not saying I'll never go back, but right now, it...
Read moreMy wife bought me a Breitling watch (cockpit B50) for Christmas from Moodys jewelry on Harvard. After opening it up, trying it on, and it not fitting we took it back only to find put that the watch was NOT new, but “Almost new”and the watch band had been modified (cut). (How we found out it was A “almost new” watch is a story within itself) Then we were told that the watch was not returnable after the sales person called the “President of the Moodys”. My wife was furious to say the least. How do you sell a watch, proclaim that it is new, then admit it is NOT new, but it is “almost new”!? Then refuse to let us return it!? At first they said they could order a new band and give it to us at cost for around $300.00, then they decided they would sell it to us for only $260.00, Then after calmly raising more of our concerns they decide to order and give us the band at no charge, but still refuse to let us return the”Almost new” watch. To have had my wife spend this amount of money on a “almost new watch” when buying and believing it was new from Moodys jewelry is quite surprising to me! It’s really unbelievable !!? We have bought a lot of things from Moodys in the past and we are just shocked at their lack of customer service in this situation!? We will take our...
Read moreDisorganized and unsatisfactory customer service. I brought a small pendant in to have it turned into a pin. They said it would take a week and a half and they would call me back with a cost estimate. I visited their store a week later having not heard back, and they assured me they would call the next day with information. They did not. I called them after two days to find out the scheduled date of completion is in a week (so, more like TWO and a half weeks) and they still can't give me a cost estimate of service.
Oh, and did they apologize for such poor service? if "I've been on vacation" is an apology then they certainly made up for their errors. I've heard it a few times from a few different people.
Oh, and i forgot to mention that when I was asking about my service ticket they asked me which person with the same last name I was. That's an excellent way to ruin a surprise gift.
No discretion, no follow-through, incorrect scheduling.
I will be using a different...
