After putting off finding a new salon and hair stylist for a VERY long time (due to bad stylists in the past and anxiety) I finally decided that when I was making a trip to Tulsa (an hour away from where I live) that I would do some research on salons/stylists in Tulsa and make an appointment. The day before my trip I spent most the day researching and reading reviews. I decided on 3 salons that I would call based on their high ratings/reviews online. I would asked various questions to see what vibes I got from them over the phone.
The first one was a no because they didnât do long hair cuts. The second I called was alright but they didnât really seem to care what I had to say and they was just trying to get me in with whoever was available, I was just money to them. Also they didnât offer donation of hair which was important to me.
When I called Raw Elements I was greeted by nice and bubbly employees who spent the time to listen and respond to all the questions/concerns I had, without once getting irritated, or try to rush off the phone like most businesses would do. The first employee I talked to I asked basic questions such as prices, explained a little about myself, and what I was looking to have done. She told me 3 stylists who were available the day I would be in Tulsa and that she would recommend the stylist, Kendra, saying our personalities would get along especially well together. I had more questions on how their stylist levels/tiers differed so she let me speak to the manager who happily explained the difference and gave me a brief description of the 3 available stylists. They also donated hair to locks of love which helped seal the deal. I ended up going with Kendra and I couldnât have been happier with that decision. When I got to the salon I was greeted with smiles and happy people. The salon was very nice, not too big or too small. The environment was peaceful and comfortable. Kendra was professional and kind immediately asking if I would like a beverage. She asked me what I was thinking of having done to my hair, listened to me, and then gave me her opinion on what she thought would be best if I was comfortable with it. I was, and I ended up with a great haircut and overall a great experience. The donation of the hair was a quick process, the price was the same that I was quoted by them over the phone, and my partner who was in the waiting area while I received my hair cut explained that they too were offered beverages as well (most other salons wouldnât care about the people who wasnât receiving a haircut) I love my hair and so has everyone else who has seen it. I will...
Read moreThe best haircut I've ever had, and very affordable. It was my first appointment, and Nicole gave me an inverted bob with lots of internal layers for texture and body. She also took out a lot of the bulk in the back, but it still has movement. I asked particularly to not look like a mom, and she delivered. I get compliments on it all the time, even a month later! It's the lowest maintenance cut I've ever had, too. I just put half of it up in a bun after I shower at night and spritz on some sea salt spray when I let it down in the morning and I'm done! (I wear it wavy, and it really does look so cool.) No heat! It suits me so well, too, that some people I see every day didn't notice for days, even though I took off over 15 inches. I already recommended Nicole to a friend, and she also raved about how easy her style was, how much she loves it, and how it doesn't look "mom" at all. (I'm early 30s, my friend is late 40s.) I had adjusted my expectations when I saw how young Nicole was, but she blew my mind. She's a prodigy! She was born to cut hair. She's very detail-oriented, she has a lot of experience and is well trained, and you can tell it's her passion. I can't say enough great things about my experience. Nicole is the stylist I've been looking for my whole adult life. My...
Read moreI worked with Nicole. Really enjoyed my experience with her and the facility. When you enter, you're greeted warmly. I was offered something to drink (super nice). Place is clean. Sat down and she struck a fantastic balance between sociable, but not overly chatty. She was knowledgeable about her craft and offered a variety of opinions about my haircut and what I wanted. The shampoo experience costs an additional 10 dollars (or rather is included in the haircut but if you decide to omit it you get 10 dollars off) but was heavenly. She used this menthol conditioner that was flipping fantastic. In addition, she also did a scalp massage and neck massage. Much higher quality than some of the other "massages" I've gotten from other places. The product she used to style my hair was perfect for my hair type. The pricing on haircuts varies with what level of expertise the person who cuts your hair has, but my haircut cost $50. That's pretty expensive in my opinion, but....given how I didn't dislike my hair after going in there and how at ease I felt while getting my hair cut.....I think...
