Only been here just the single time to sell a loose copy of an original Pokémon Emerald GBA Cartridge so my review is probably not the full picture here. Just to get straight to the point, the store associates don't understand the technology they do business with. Prices aside, I was told that the price they'd pay for my GBA Cartridge was lower because they need to replace a "dead battery" inside the cartridge. It is a "dry" battery, and if you replace the battery in that cartridge, you are effectively ruining any value that cartridge has because it is an original. The battery in that generation of games only affects time-based events as that battery powers the internal clock and only marginally affects the value of the cartridge itself. Anyone who wants to play the game can emulate it or buy a clone cartrage of it for 15$, wet battery included. If you guys read these, dont try to fix the "dead" battery please. Its a valuable collectable item that means a lot to people and you're going to effectively ruin any value that has by trying to solder a new battery into it.
TlDr ; the guys there dont know much about the technology they do business with, this place is retro gamestop, probably look elsewhere unless you're just trying to pawn some crap...
Read moreThis was my first visit to the shop, and at first everything looked clean, organized, and professional. I purchased a New 3DS XL that was advertised as having only minor “cosmetic damage.” However, once I got it home, I discovered a deep scratch on the top screen, a bloated battery pushing the case open (a serious safety concern), and other issues that were never mentioned beforehand. When I called about it, the only option offered was in-store credit — meaning I now have to wait and hope another system comes in that’s in proper condition. For something sold just $50 under market value, this felt misleading and disappointing. I hope management reviews how items are inspected and described, because customers deserve full transparency about what they’re buying.
The screen was more distracting in person than it appeared in the photos. The battery was visibly bulging and pushing on the back casing, but when I asked about it, I was told they hadn’t checked it because they “did not have the proper tools,” which...
Read moreI haven't had much luck in trading at this store. I brought in some controllers, some ps2 memory cards, and a few games on Sunday. They pulled out systems from the back one at a time to test the controllers, rejected 80% of the items I brought in b/c she didn't "think it would benefit the store". I think the worst part was how short and rude the girl was. Consistently letting out exasperated sighs, talking to me like I was stupid when I would ask questions, telling me she isn't the manager so she doesn't have all the answers. I think my final straw was listening to her hit counters and complain as I was leaving the store. Seems like a decent store to buy at, but I wouldn't recommend selling anything there unless the manager is present. Maybe call in advance to see who is going to be there for your trade instead of wasting 30 mins of your time while they help everyone else...
