I stayed here over the past weekend for business, and was very happy with the accommodations. Checked in Friday night, around 6:00pm with ease. I checked out with the same ease on Sunday morning.
I was in a non-smoking room, and it was beautiful. I loved the television, refrigerator and microwave. Fully stocked bathroom with everything you'd need, plus coffee and a hairdryer. Although I did not need them, there were plenty of clear instructions and directions on all of the amenities (ice, vending, laundry, pool, wi-fi, room service, etc.). This was great, because I checked in late, after a long day, and had all my answers right there in the room.
I loved the fact that I was able to take full advantage of my company's meal allowance because of the great continental breakfast they served. Great biscuits and gravy, sausage, French toast, along with the other staples: boiled eggs, hot and cold cereals, yogurts, juices, milks and coffees. And of course, they had plenty of great bagels, which I toasted and ate with cream cheese. I ate a supple meal (two days in a row) and was loaded with great carbohydrates and protein, which helped me have some great 12-hour days opening another store in my company.
Even though I was staying here on my companies dime, I thought the price was great for the services rendered. My background is in the hospitality industry and I recognize the genuinely polite and professional attitude of the staff. I thank them very much. But it is easy for anyone to recognize the great pride the staff takes in their jobs.
My favorite experience was my first morning. I went in for the continental breakfast at 8:30am in the lobby. It was until 9:00am. The lady in charge (I wish I got her name), was more than willing to accommodate late-comers and those still there. She asked me if I needed anything else, citing items I was already munching on (I'm a slow eater, by the way). She was so sweet and kind, and really cared about everyone's satisfaction. I greatly appreciate the fact that she was trying to shutdown, but still going above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. This great service inspires me to do the same in my field.
I felt compelled to share this experience, after I had shared my experience here with my mother and step-father. They told me they had a great time at another Best Western, as well. I had a great experience, and I could stay at this place anytime. I also will stay at another location, when I decide to travel in the future.
All-in-all: Great staff and service. Awesome amenities. Great location right off the interstate if you're staying in the tri-state area. Labor Day...
Read moreWe arrived a little before check-in time (2:30) and knew our room might not be ready. The front desk staff was very cheerful and started checking to see if our room was ready yet. It wasn't and they asked us to return in 15 minutes. When we returned, it still wasn't ready. They explained they had been completely full the night before because of our Jimmy Buffet concert and that a little bit too much partying had taken place in our room and it would take longer to get it perfectly clean. They told us we could come use the lobby restroom to change into suits and go swimming. We didn't but appreciated the offer.
Our room was ready in about 10 minutes more and I was a little bit nervous to see its condition knowing about the previous night's concert. So, I probably looked at the room a little closer than usual. It was spotless. Smelled very fresh. We had the family suite and loved all the room!
And sometimes, it's the little details that make a stay go from average to great. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable and pristine. The pool furniture was very nice!! Great lounges that were in excellent condition. Having towels by the pool is a great bonus!! And the breakfast area had so many nice choices and was also well stocked and spotless! My son has special needs and is on a special diet. Many hotels have breakfast offerings that are mainly carbs that he can't eat. Having 2 breakfast meats was a blessing - along with the scrambled eggs. It was great having a breakfast that he could eat! We only live about 1.5 hours from this hotel and booked it as a spontaneous overnight stay. Rather than battling the crowds at a water park, it sounded like more fun to have a smaller, less crowded pool and an overnight stay. I'm glad we chose Best Western and would definitely...
Read moreI'm not sure how we missed it when looking for a place to stay, but all of the rooms in this two story place have doors that open directly to the parking lot, which is more motel than hotel. Not a bad thing, but not what we were expecting based on other Best Westerns we have visited. || Check-in and Check-out were okay. The front desk was polite, but not especially welcoming or friendly. We had to have our room keys re-keyed twice to get them to work, which was a bit of a pain. (but at least the walk from the room to the front desk was short). ||The location is good - walking distance to a few restaurants, and close to a major road with any type of shopping or store you might possibly need. |Rooms - both smelled VERY strongly of air freshener or cleaner of some type, which I guess is better than any kind of nasty smell, but made us wonder why. |The carpets and furniture were absolutely filthy - a lot of stains and visible crumbs which should have been vacuumed up. ||The beds/sheets and the bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The towels looked clean but didn't smell clean (they smelled like they might have been sitting for a long time, so maybe our particular rooms hadn't been used in a while) ||The AC/Heat unit worked very well, and the curtains made the rooms nicely dark. |Breakfast was your average free hot and cold breakfast (not a ton of options, but a little of everything), and they kept it well stocked. ||Pricing was not a bargain (which I guess is why we expected a little better conditions), but it wasn't too expensive, either. Our stay was overall on the lower end of average. Probably would not opt to...
