I like the new swings here. But the entire park was sadly in rather disgusting condition. There was garbage and inappropriate waste throughout the entire park- and I don’t think children should play in an area this poorly kept, despite the park’s amenities having the possibility of being a lot of fun. And whoever’s idea it was to include a slide that came out into a pool of water… was not considering the necessary work to keep a public body of water from being a cesspool of nasty germs and possible illnesses. Especially here in Alaska? Worst idea ever. I will say that the one porter potty they had available was actually quite nice- it was large and very clean. I tend to avoid those like the plague, however I think this one was well enough that even I’d have used it...
Read moreThere's a sign saying WEAR MASKS but NOT one person or kid wears a mask ever in the park since the sign was put up. And every weekend there's groups of over 20. I only know this because I drive by it every day a few times a day. I was thinking about taking my family there but forget about it. My wife & I decided NO when we seen a kid sneeze a few times on the play equipment & it didn't get cleaned up. Maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe I'm not. Read moreThere's parking for at least a dozen vehicles. The playground is nice with a fun large oval swing. There's a big field and a bike path that follows the adjacent road. The large slide ends in a large sand box and concrete pathways like the playground. The playground also has fake grass lining the ground under the play equipment. Lots of stuff to climb on too! There is a small shelter and small charcoal grills on poles and two large trash. Near the parking lot there are free bags to pick up...
