We were shopping for a new recliner for my husband who has a spinal fusion. One of the effects of it is that he gets severe headaches, and requires good support for his head, neck and back. Fortunately for us, after researching online and shopping several stores, we met Alex Gomez at LaZBoy in Anchorage. He listened carefully to my husband’s needs and concerns, and showed us several chairs that could meet those needs. As we narrowed the search, Alex spent the time to show my husband the various settings on the chair and how to access the settings that will meet his needs. Once we decided on the right chair, Alex clarified the fabrics available and when each of them could be expected, as none were readily available. After we placed our order, Alex has telephoned us every week or two to keep us informed regarding shipping and delivery. We received our chair on Thursday, May 26, within the promised time frame. Since then, he has assisted me by phone with several of our questions. As you can assume from what you have just read, Alex Gomez is a positive asset to the LaZBoy company! We have already been telling our friends about his excellent professionalism and attention to superb customer service. In our opinion, he is deserving of a pay raise! On the day that we picked up my husband’s chair, he had a post op appointment with his doctor. He was unable to do any of the work necessary to load the chair into my car. Once again, we were met with two excellent LaZBoy employees in your warehouse: Al and Franklin. My car could not fit the carton that the chair was in, so they uncrated it for me. They taught me how to do the set up at home, showing me how to connect the wires, and attach the chair back. They then carefully loaded the chair base and back into my car. Both of these gentlemen were knowledgeable, professional, polite, and concerned that I could (with help from a neighbor) get my husband’s chair properly and safely set up. Read moreI have waited for ages to go buy a recliner. I wanted something in leather that was not a poofy standard recliner.
Joe was the salesman that assisted me and I told him what I wanted. He showed me what they had that fit my bill. In addition to it being a rocker I also wanted it to swivel. Joe informed me which chairs I could purchase that would be able to be modified to suit my wishes.
I looked, found a chair I liked, but said I needed to look more and that if I did not find anything I would be back. He was very gracious and wished me luck in my search.
After going to other places and seeing a couple other chairs that I did like, I decided to return to Lazyboy and Joe and to buy the chair I had found with his assistance.
This entire purchase was such a painless experience. Joe was wonderful in describing my options since I did want modifications, he was totally gracious even when we said we would be looking elsewhere (I know this is part of the business, but he was soooo professional even as we walked out and that cannot be easy in these difficult times).
When I returned to make the purchase, Joe was wonderful. We completed the transaction and we arranged for me to return to inspect the chair before I take delivery of it after the swivel is installed.
I would recommend Lazyboy AND Joe in an instant. I am thrilled with the treatment and the product I received yesterday. A chair is a large purchase and I am completely confident in my purchase. I would return to buy furniture again...
Read moreAbsolutely worse customer service I have seen in along time. Picked out a chair I like from the floor. They waited to the very last second that the chair I wanted was not in stock and they refused to sell me floor model. I was told there are 3 on the way and they will be in stock in 2 weeks. 2 weeks go by and they did not call or contact me in anyway. On the day I was told it wove there I called. I was then informed the shipment got delayed a week. Not a big deal, a phone call informing me ahead of time would have been nice. So another week goes by with no word. Again I called on the date I was told it would be there. Still Not there yet. I am getting a little impatient at this point and they still refuse to sell the floor model. Finally they tell me I can pick up me chair 4-1/2 weeks after it was ordered. I get it home and the electric headrest does not work.
I will update once someone will return my call to resolve this issue. At this point I should have saved my money and bought another cheap Costco chair instead of spending $2k at anchorage lazy boy.
*just a quick update. The warranty center called back and they have a tech coming to my home to fix the chair in 6 days.
10/4/2020 update.
Chair is still not fixed. It’s now going past 6 months. The last I heard the new back rest is on order, this has been a couple months ago. I just wish they would give my money back and take the chair already so I can go find someone who understands what customers service...
