Horrible experience at this del taco in Upland on foothill near the Wal Mart store. This keeps happening and it needs to stop. On Sunday morning Oct 7th 2021 I was harassed at the drive thru by the manager. She wanted me to back up and reset the sensor for the timer, Reset then pull back up. I did so I could pay for the food. I had like 5 items. Nobody around. They were short staffed or just slow. Then she asked me to pull around and she will bring my order out. I said I'm fine right here there is nobody behind me and plus its based on a first come first serve basis. the lady got an attitude with me, which I got recorded, cams in the car. she said that corporate is timing us and we have to keep our numbers down. Which is false because they are telling drive thru customers to pull around to make their numbers look low. I felt like telling her that the issue is between you and corporate, not me the customer. My lawyer says I do not have to move or even back up which can be bad if you hit someone behind. I will address this with corporate and show them the video of the manager yelling at customers and having an attitude, The only reason they keep a timer is so districts can brag about their stores being fast and shows that they can use less workers because it appears that the current staffing is actually meeting the times of service, which is false. Customers don't have to move forward or backwards until the order is ready. If they cannot do this at this establishment, then fire the manager and get someone that can manage better. Harassing the customers and threatening me was ill advised and inappropriate with my kids in the back too. stop harassing the customers and serve them one by one, each car at a time. Unless its 50 tacos, we understand. Its time for a lawsuit and a class action against this owner and establishment. I will contact corporate myself and move forward with this harassment. Even the girl working said I don't have to if I didn't want to. I said thank you. The manager persisted that they get in trouble, which has nothing to do with the customers. Do your job! Read moreSo this Del Taco location is my family's go to Del Taco as it is nearest to her home so needless to say we've been going here for quite a while. I can't say this is a popular location. Despite the long lines that are usually there which is a good sign because obviously they're doing something right to attract so many customers and have good business their service is always good and fast. The cashiers as well as any other associate there at this location are very nice, respectful, and professional. I can't say that out of all my times that I've been going here to this location that I've ever had a bad experience with an employer there. They never take their time and they get the orders through quickly, appropriately, and accurately. You would think after waiting for a long line they'd be rushing and not taking the time to treat you properly but they do and I appreciate that as well as respect it. So also needless to say I will continue going to this location and if you like Del Taco and you're in this area this is the place to go. Keep in mind though even visiting at a late hour there's usually a line. Not always long but there will be a line. Right at the top I’d like to give a shoutout to Armando for his top level of service he provided to me, as well as the customers around me. I didn’t feel like someone was taking my order, I felt like we were having a conversation. What’s more, we DID have a conversation when he visited me and other eating patrons to check on us and make sure everything tasted great. Kudos!
As for the food, it was good. A previously disappointing experience with the chicken crunch burrito at a previous location was mended here with a more “filled out” burrito this time around. Similarly, the habanero chicken soft taco (on the new value menu) was good quality and the sauce is perfect.
