I feel compelled to give a bad review here based on an experience I am currently dealing with. My PCP ordered a follow up to a procedure that I had done two years ago. After my insurance company pre-approved, I contacted MLH to schedule as instructed in my patient portal. Based upon proximity to my address, I was sent to an office close to my home by the MLH associate who scheduled the procedure. I recently received a bill from MLH and now after speaking with Billing come to see that solely based on the location (which they sent me to) I am responsible for nearly TEN TIMES the out of pocket cost for the same procedure I had two years ago. The location charged over $5,000 for the same test I had two years ago which cost $644. At no point during scheduling was I told there would be such an astronomical difference in cost based on this location - which again THEY sent me to. MLH has been unwilling to acknowledge their part or accept any responsibility for the issue which has resulted in an exponential difference in cost to me, the patient. I now feel that I was purposefully sent to a more expensive location so MLH could reap the benefit of the inflated cost.
7/2/25 UPDATE: I contacted the phone number provided below in response to this review. I spoke with a patient advocate who understood my situation and attempted to help me, however, the ultimate response was “too bad that our office staff sent you to a hospital location and it costs more money you signed this form during online checkin that no one explained to you but that said it was ok”. I will never trust MLH ever again. This entire experience has destroy my faith in the medical system and cost me thousands out of pocket. Main Line Health does not care about patients, they are out for money, period. So my advice is do NOT rely on MLH scheduling to schedule ANY specialty care for you. They WILL send you somewhere that costs 10x more and instantaneously puts a massive financial burden on you the patient and they will take zero responsibility and not care one single...
Read moreI will start by saying that I would not recommend this place to anyone. The fact that they have so many next-day appointments available is a warning sign about the lack of quality customer service and transparency.
I had seen Dr Ameer Ajaj on at least 3 different occasions. Each appointment felt extremely rushed, as if he wanted to end the appointment as soon as possible. I had to stop him from talking and re-explain my issues because he would not stop talking long enough to listen to what I had to say. There was never any unprompted followup. If you're used to a hometown family doctor, this is the complete opposite. It is extremely corporate and you are just a number.
Good luck trying to get a medication renewed in a timely manner. They boast about the convenience of renewing on the app. It may take at least 48 hours for a reply. I was once denied a renewal for a medication 48 hrs after requesting it because I needed to schedule an appointment before renewal. I was notified of this right before a long holiday weekend, over which the office is obviously closed and I would have run out.
Billing: They are far from transparent about their billing process. They can't tell you the cost of your appointment until after it's complete. If you complain about the lack of transparency, they give you some separate hotline to call for a cost estimate so that you can wait on hold for an extended period of time.
If you have a high deductible plan or no insurance, you WILL get charged for asking about multiple topics and/or having a new medication prescribed. I withheld payment for over 3 months before they finally "explained" to me why there was an over $80 difference between 2 separate 30 minute appointments where we discussed the same medical topic. Apparently it costs an additional $80 to switch medications.
See in the attached image the span of time and number of separate communications it took before I finally received a straight answer. This doesn't include the numerous phone calls I...
   Read moreTerrible….
We have had our family doctor at this location for a long time. In August, I called to make an appointment, and they told me that our family doctor no longer works there. I was shocked. I asked why we weren’t informed, and they apologized. Then, they said they could transfer us to a new family doctor. I agreed, and they said they could give me an appointment for the first week of September with Dr. Ameer Musa Ajaj. I accepted, and we scheduled the appointment. Later, they called to say they needed to change the appointment. I agreed, and we rescheduled. Due to my own commitments, I had to change the appointment again.
Today, you call me saying that you can accept me as a new patient but not my husband. I thought it was a joke. I didn’t take it seriously at first. The gentleman on the phone said, “Let me ask the doctor if he can accept your husband,” and put me on hold. When he came back, he said, “Unfortunately, we cannot accept your husband.” I was truly shocked. I’ve never seen or heard anything like this before. Our family doctor leaves, and we have no idea about it. You transfer us to a new doctor, but we can only get an appointment one month later. And then, close to the appointment date, you call and tell me that you can accept me but not my husband? It’s unbelievable. This is truly upsetting. For an institution like Main Line to handle things this way is unacceptable. I don’t know how you are going to resolve this. On top of that, the gentleman on the phone gives me advice, saying, “You can go to other branches!” Thanks for the suggestion, as if I didn’t know...
