City Works exceeded all expectations when it comes to delicious takeout food! From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The moment we opened our order, we were greeted with mouthwatering aromas and beautifully presented dishes. While we regret not being able to capture a photo of our delightful meal (we simply couldn't resist diving right in), we can assure you that the taste was absolutely fantastic. Let's start with the Nashville Nachos, which were an absolute highlight. These nachos were incredibly light, yet packed with flavor. The combination of crispy tortilla chips, tender chicken, and a tantalizing blend of spices left us wanting more with every bite. The toppings were plentiful, adding a refreshing and vibrant element to the dish. It was the perfect balance of heat, creaminess, and crunch. Kudos to City Works for creating such a satisfying treat! Next up, the popcorn chicken. This appetizer quickly became one of our favorites. The chicken was expertly seasoned, perfectly crispy on the outside, and incredibly tender on the inside. But what truly took it to the next level was the dipping sauce. It complemented the chicken flawlessly, adding a tangy and savory element that had us reaching for more. It was clear that attention to detail was a top priority for the culinary team at City Works. Moving on to the grilled chicken with bacon on a roll – it was simply out of this world. The chicken was grilled to perfection, boasting a juicy and succulent texture. The smoky bacon elevated the flavor profile, and the roll was soft and fresh. Every bite was an explosion of taste, and the combination of ingredients worked harmoniously together. It's safe to say that this sandwich left us craving for more. And let's not forget the chicken tinga tacos! These little flavor bombs were bursting with authentic Mexican taste. The tender and flavorful chicken tinga was expertly seasoned and nestled in warm tortillas. Each bite transported us to a culinary journey through Mexico, and we couldn't get enough of it. The toppings provided an extra layer of freshness and tang, making every mouthful a delight. We were so impressed with our meal from City Works that we can't wait to order again and again. The flavors, quality, and presentation were top-notch, leaving us with an unforgettable dining experience. We wholeheartedly recommend trying their fantastic food. Whether you're in the mood for light and tasty Nashville Nachos, mouthwatering popcorn chicken, a heavenly grilled chicken with bacon sandwich, or the explosion of flavors in the chicken tinga tacos, City Works is the place to go. Bon appétit!

Lovely modern gastro pub in the restaurant district in King of Prussia. Tons of alcoholic beverages offered, including over 30 selections of house-made micro booze. The food was elevated pub-grub with plenty of choices from tacos, burgers, barbecue, full-course entrees, and more! Appetizers of cheese curds and buffalo dip were on the small side for apps, but very tasty. The buffalo dip had pickled jalapenos and the pomodoro of the marinara for the cheese curds had an unexpected smoky undertone. Of the four entrees ordered, the Ahi Tuna tacos shined the most. They carried an unexpected level of heat with the shaved red chilis and micro cilantro. All of the ingredients came together so well and complimented the fresh raw Ahi. My stepson the birthday boy got a birthday steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. Fresh broccolini is a nice add for steak. The fingerling potatoes were a bit of a miss because they were greasy and heavy on the rosemary. My other stepson wanted to be adventurous and chose the Cajun linguine, which can be best described as pasta meets jambalaya. Fresh andouille sausage and marinated chicken were delicious proteins and the sauce was very flavorful. The dish was a bit heavy on the peppers but they were easy enough to pick around. My wife's chicken tinga tacos were good as well. The marinated chicken had deep and rich flavor, but the rest of the ingredients were bland. A house salad on the side offered extra greens and a homemade vinaigrette but she regretted not going with the Caesar I chose, which had shaved Parmesan cheese and a creamy Caesar dressing on fresh romaine. One other disappointment was the added 3% fee listed as "inflation charge". Why weren't the prices just increased? All in all, we still enjoyed the overall experience and would dine here again.

How we chose City Works? I asked my daughter, who's a St. Joe's student to choose somewhere locally for us to have dinner that we hadn't tried. I got a list of for restaurants which were all in King of Prussia. What we're my first impressions when viewing the website? Nice beer list and probably a great place for happy hour. How did we prepare for dinner? I made a reservation on OpenTable a well before. It was easy making the reservation. When we arrived, we were immediately seated without having to stand around waiting. What were my first impressions upon arrival? The place want crowded at all. Yet, most of the tables had a reserve sign on the table, but only one of the many tables became occupied by while we were there. There were some people sitting at the bar. This was a Sunday evening/night when we went. This may not be a busy time. The food presentation was great, but two of the people with me meals were overcooked. Yet, the waiter recommended those. Maybe it was on off night. Our waiter, Stephen, seemed to be new and/or not properly trained. The burger my daughter ordered was supposed to be medium well but it was overcooked and very dry. The pork chop was overcooked. The salmon I had was great but they could do without the sour cream. I had a craft beer from Victory brewery. It was great. Should you get dessert? No way. We got the Oreo cheesecake. They placed all of our orders on plate together and stacked them. It in no way tasted like Oreo cheesecake. Would I come back? Maybe only for drinks but not a meal or dessert. The staff recommendations we're not delightful as mentioned. Three stars is generous for a waiter that head no idea what he be was doing and recommendations were not good.

City Works: Where Time Goes to Die and Service is Nonexistent

I don’t normally write negative reviews. In fact, I avoid them most of the time. But City Works? Oh, City Work earned this one with every excruciating second of one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in my entire life. If I could give it zero stars, I would.. honestly, I’d give it negative stars and demand financial compensation for emotional damages if that was possible. Let me paint you a picture. We walk in on a Wednesday evening.. barely five steps into the building, and I should have listened to my gut already screaming “turn back now.” There were four groups ahead of us, and the host was moving like they were on their last life in a game of Super Mario. It took 15 minutes just to write names on a list. When we finally get to the front of the line, a second hostess shows up, and instead of helping seat people, they start restocking forks and napkins.. Questionable priorities when you have a line of people to get through, but what do I know. We asked for the first available seating (inside, outside, on the roof.. we didn’t care), and were able to get a table inside immediately. Fifteen more minutes pass. No waiter. No “Hey, we’re busy, we’ll be with you soon.” Nothing. Just sitting there questioning our life decisions as other tables are getting serviced. So I decide to flag one down that passes by, and ask if we even have a server. The server has now passed us a few times and responds with: “Oh, I’m your server. I didn’t realize they sat you.” Maybe if there was no one walking around I would have taken the excuse, but I watched him pass us multiple times. We order two waters, two cokes, and a tiny bit of hope. He asks if we want lemon. We say sure: one for the coke and two for the waters. Easy. Then, a busser shows up with random appetizers asking who ordered chicken wings. Spoiler alert.. not us.. We had only ordered drinks. He turns back quick, presumably to return what should have been a free gift by this point, and comes back.. with another wrong order... And by now we are thinking the staff is playing a joke on us. Drinks finally arrive. Two waters, two cokes, and an entire plate of sliced lemons. Not lemon in the drinks. A plate of lemons.. The waiter asks if we were ready to order food, to which we responded yes, and he says that he is going to drop the tray he brought the drinks on and be right back. I must have forgotten what right back means, because he certainly did not come right back. He passes our table a couple times, and to be fair, I don't know exactly what he is doing.. He was probably giving me the time to google what 'right back' means. Whatever, I put my lemon in the coke and add yet another thing to laugh about for the night to this already ridiculous restaurant experience. I go to take a sip of my coke and it is the most watered down coke I have ever had in my life, it may as well have been water with brown food coloring. It was as if the soda machine said "meh I'm done for the day." Now, finally ready to order food. Server comes back, we start ordering. One of us gets through their order and then he says “Actually, I can’t take your order right now. I need to wait for the other server to close out this table. I will go fix this immediately and I’ll be right back.” Guess what he does? Immediately turns around and starts taking the order from the table behind us. You can’t make this up. We’d been there 40 minutes, had two undrinkable cokes and enough lemons to start making watered down lemonade. Not one thing of food ordered. We gave up. Told the hostess we were leaving and asked if we had to pay for the sad brown lemon water. She said no and offered to get the manager, which was nice, but we’d already wasted 40 minutes and weren’t trying to spend another 40 waiting for the manager to come out. TL;DR If you’re looking to waste your time, test your patience, or wonder what it’s like to be trapped in a restaurant themed episode of Black Mirror, City Works is the place for you. Otherwise please go...

I came here wednesday night 7/10 at 10:30 pm from the Phillies game but prior to arriving I called and asked what time the kitchen closes and I was told that the kitchen closes at 11. I was super excited to try this place because I wanted to host a work gathering here another time, had it been good. Upon arriving it was fairly busy, food was coming out, lots of people at the bar, so I got really excited to try it.

However, I waited at the front hostess stand waiting to be acknowledged and seated because there were no hosts. So that chewed up about 8 minutes of time I could’ve been seated and ordering. A bus boy was kind enough to notice us and get someone to help us. A tall gentlemen who I assume is a server because he was bringing food out to tables finally approached us to be seated and then proceeded to tell me that the kitchen was closed in a very rude careless manner but that we can still sit. I told him I called and asked and I was told that it closed at 11 and he said “yeah well it’s closed, we closed it early tonight” again in a carelessly rude manner. So I said right, but I’m watching you guys bring out over 8 burgers and fries to these other tables and he shrugged us off. So we walked out. For this I will absolutely never go back nor will I recommend it to anyone or any of my colleagues.

Also a note for the manager - having employees like this will only hinder your business. I wish I got his name but I was too annoyed at how rude he was. We ended up going to yardhouse and the waitress was so pleasant. She sat us down and let us know to please place our order before drinks because the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes, so we did and then we tipped her double just because our experience at city works was so terrible. It was nice to see someone with work ethic want to seat us and serve us rather than someone like the server at city works who told us the kitchen was closed when it clearly wasn’t but he just was in a rush to get out of work rather...
