Was there for only 1 night last week for a Hockey tournament in the West Chester area and had a very good stay and experience at this hotel. The room was very clean and was nice but a bit small, but when we checked in on Saturday afternoon, there was a strong smell of cleaning solution or disinfecting spray as I assumed that the cleaning staff was being extra precautious with the Coronavirus being around and that was TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE. It wasn't a bad smell, just smelled of disinfectant and after a few hours, it eventually dissipated.
The room was nice, not that large but big enough for 1 night as I was looking for good value and didn't need a couch, etc. and didn't want to spend $100 a night and felt that it was very much worth it. The refrigerator was small and didn't have a freezer section as I normally bring a lot of my own food with large ice packs as my son has Autism and likes me to bring special food for him on trips. But the guy at the front desk told me that they could put my large ice packs in their large refrigerator in the kitchen area, which I did and in the morning, they were all frozen solid!! So that was very nice that they did that for me.
But to me, the most important thing especially for 1 night and not going to spend much time in the room, is the bed and pillows and I DEFINITELY WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED with both of them!! They must have really put their money into the mattresses as they were EXCELLENT in my opinion and better than my Sealy Posturepedic at my home. VERY SUPPORTIVE and COMFORTABLE and the pillows had some bulk and support to them and weren't those typical very soft, cushy pillows at most hotels that have essentially no support. These were very nice pillows and there were 4 on each bed and 1 was enough for me as I normally need at least 2 pillows at most hotels to have any head & neck support. Needless to say, I wanted to take that mattress home with me!!!
The shower was good, the water pressure a bit too light for me, but it was fine, just a low-flow showerhead that restricted the water pressure too much for my liking.
The night we stayed, it was in the low 40's at night and it was set on HEAT and I set the temp originally when we arrived at 70, then at 68 and it was still a bit warm, then turned it down to 66 at bedtime and during the night, it still wasn't cool enough for me and my son, so I then turned it to COOL and set it at 70, and it was perfect!! It was quiet and efficient, just had to figure...
Read moreOur family had several rooms here for three nights. When my brother arrived he had to change his room three times. First because there were bedbugs. Second because of blood stains. Third stains on the bedspread, but stayed anyways. They were out of water, oj, creamer and ice and I asked Felecia at the front desk if they were going to replace it and her answer was, “no” and walked away from me. My parents who were in another room tried to call the front desk for wash clothes several times and not only would no one would ever answer the phone it didn’t even go to the front desk it went to the reservation site. So after getting dressed and having to go down to the front desk to ask in person it was in her dismay and seemed like an inconvenience and as she was at fault to even ask her to go get the wash clothes. Still didn’t have them. A day later she asked her if she had them and she did (we were on our way out for our family event we were in town for) mom politely asked “ok, can you put them in our room for us?” Felicia rudely responds again, “no”. The first night we had to chase someone down to even get clean towels and wash clothes. Room were not being serviced AT ALL. Dirty towels, unmade beds, full trash cans, you get the point. So after several complaints over the weekend we were ready to go, to say the least. We naturally, at this point, as to speak to the manager. Felicia says ok he will be out when he has a minute. So several minutes pass and my aunt asks, “do you know how long he will be?” Felicia responds, failing to mention, “he’s in a meeting right now.” My aunt then responds,” so you were just going to let us stand here and not inform us that he was in a meeting?” We finally checked out with no discount and left. This was the absolute worst place I’ve ever stayed and I’m speaking on behalf of my family, as well. RUNNNNN if you see the...
Read moreEverything was going well until around 12:20 on Saturday. Little things like overflowing garbage, no coffee or milk at breakfast are all understandable on a busy weekend. However, when we called and asked if we could check out at 1:00pm and were told “yes” by the front desk we did not expect any issues. Well, we were dead wrong. We received our first knock prior to noon asking if we were leaving. I advised we were going at one and we had spoken to the front desk. The woman was very nice and said ok. Then we got another knock slightly after noon and it went similarly. It wasn’t until around 12:30 when Juan knocked on our door and gave us a hard time telling us we needed to leave. I calmly explained we had spoken to the front desk and they told us 1pm was ok. He told me that it was not ok and that we needed to leave because another guest needed our room. We grabbed our stuff, went down to the front desk and saw Juan complaining to the front desk, the original woman who knocked on our door and another man who may have been a manager. Considering it was now 12:40 and the parking lot was completely empty I asked Juan where the guests that were waiting for our room were. He insisted that people were waiting to check in. I replied that if he had just been honest about the cleaning team wanting to clean the room instead of lying to us it would have been more understandable. On top of it all we ended up leaving the hotel around 12:50 anyway. An employee ruined a stay over 10 minutes. As someone who has and currently works in service it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel. Interestingly enough the nice woman who checked us in the evening prior was extremely nice and a true professional. Juan was...
