A Memorable Anniversary Celebration with a Slight Hiccup at Bodrum Mediterranean Restaurant
We recently visited Bodrum Mediterranean Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and it was a delightful experience with a small setback. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, which set the perfect mood for our special occasion.
We started off by ordering two appetizers of the day, which were presented beautifully and tasted divine. For our main course, we had the lamb chop and the steak. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, and the flavors were rich and delicious. We could tell that the chef put a lot of effort into creating these dishes.
The service throughout our meal was on point and effective. Our waiter was attentive, making sure our water glasses were always filled, and our needs were met. It was after the main course that we experienced a minor issue. We ordered baklava, a traditional Mediterranean dessert, to finish off our meal. The dessert was delightful and up to this point, we would have given the restaurant a 5-star rating.
However, our waiter brought the check to our table after we received the dessert, saying "no rush." We appreciated the sentiment but were surprised when, not even five minutes later, the waiter approached our table and grabbed the check. My wife was still enjoying her dessert, and we hadn't even looked at the check yet. We reminded him that he had said "no rush" earlier, and asked why he seemed to be rushing us now. Visibly surprised, he responded, "I am not rushing you!" We couldn't help but feel that he was definitely rushing us.
Despite this small issue, we will definitely return to Bodrum Mediterranean Restaurant. The food is simply too good to pass up. We hope that our next visit will be a flawless experience, but even with the hiccup, we had a memorable...
Read moreOverpriced and overrated Mediterranean food dressed as fine dining. I love Mediterranean food but many of the food items served are not conducive to what Mediterranean food is, in my opinion.
Mediterranean food is about using fresh ingredients and letting their flavors shine through.
I ordered the branzino which was smothered in sauce. It tasted okay, but the sauce hid the flavor of the fish. To me this is a sign of not knowing how to cook fish or hiding its true flavor. Perhaps the fish isn’t as fresh? - that was my first thought. This is a dish for people who don’t like fish but order it anyway. I happen to like fish and wanted to taste the complex flavors that stem from its caramelization. If you like fish and seafood probably skip this dish (catch of the day).
My husband ordered the Beyti kebab which similarly it drowned in sauce, throwing off the balance of the flavors. But I suppose it’s meant to be that way. It’s sauce on sauce - you get a side of yogurt sauce too.
The tea and baklava were a delicious end to a disappointing meal.
Most disappointing is how we were sat at a table that is sure to make someone go blind. My husband sat facing the window by the entrance and the sun was at the point in the horizon where it just hit right and shone directly at his eye line. This was addressed in a manner of “well, the sun will set soon” rather than moving us to a different table or something. My husband was too polite to say something but if that was me, I would’ve asked to be moved. Any respectable dining establishment should offer to have customers move tables if that kind of situation arises.
If they demand a high end price, they should offer a similar high...

Bodrum Venice is hands-down the best food on the island—and easily the best Mediterranean I’ve ever had. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and consistently top-tier. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, the quality is always on point.
Today’s lunch was so fantastic that I had to finally write a review—and it’s all thanks to Tansel, who is truly a gem. He’s incredibly kind, attentive, and makes every guest feel like a VIP. From start to finish, the service was flawless. He really elevates the whole experience. Bodrum is lucky to have him!
The entire staff is wonderful—friendly, fast, and professional. Glasses never empty, plates cleared right away, and just an overall genuinely welcoming energy. You always feel taken care of here. It is clear that service is a top priority.
Now, let’s talk food: you cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. My go-to order is the Chef’s Salad with gyro meat (so good and satisfying) or the Chicken Pita Wrap. And the Sigara Börek? A MUST—crispy, cheesy, dreamy. And the pita? Oh my gosh—the pita is soooooo good. Fresh, warm, homemade, and absolutely addictive. I’d come here just for the pita alone!
Bodrum is a true hidden gem and one of those rare places where everything just works—food, service, atmosphere. If you haven’t been yet, run, don’t walk. You’ll be...
