RYDER's Gourmet Market — Attraction in Vero Beach

Was hoping this place would be better. When you walk in, no one knows where to stand. The cashier was pretty clueless about the menu. I thought this was a chef from NY? Umm. Get the systems in place please. I know it takes a bit to get organized but really. And what's up with the products that take up most of the store? Most items can be bought at Fresh Market so maybe convenient if you run out of olive oil. So I've had two salads - the BLT salad. Pretty good freshness and liked the dressing. A friend was not impressed with the bread in his sandwich and said he would never return. Why can't Vero restaurants get decent bread for sandwiches? Johnny D's does actually have good bread and sandwiches are pretty good overall. So, I give this place a B-. Willing to return to see if things have improved.

Frankly, I would rather go across the street and have a take away lunch at the Tides.

Update: heard that the breakfast sandwiches are really good so going to try it out! I want this...

Edit: The owner of this business has implied that I never shopped here and that my claims are false. To clarify, I am attaching the receipt of my transaction as well as the email they never responded to. This is extremely dishonest, as I was in contact with them over the phone for multiple days, and they repeatedly promised to issue a refund. Just because I have left reviews in Europe and Miami does not mean I didn’t travel to Vero Beach.

⚠️ I would not trust a business that refuses to take responsibility and then tries to discredit its customers.

Outstanding customer service from the entire staff. Best French fries in all of south Florida hands down, I could finish it all at once and 2hrs later they still had some crunch to it flavor still there and wasn’t dry either. The fish sandwich I feel the fish could use some more salt(personal preference but my mom thought so too) but it was seasoned very well and the tartar sauce on the side took it over the top, I think if the tartar sauce came on the sandwich itself it’d be a total hit, it definitely helped balance out the flavors of the sandwich.
