Vero Beach Pickleball — Attraction in Vero Beach

Over the holiday season our family wanted to try pickleball out. We went to Pocahontas to play and were told to pay $50 to play pickleball by an extremely rude man named Mickey. He was condescending and inappropriate to us. You could tell that he did not want our family there as we didn’t fit the mold of typical pickleball players at this location.

I’ve heard good things about pickleball but unfortunately the group at Pickle U acts elitist and exclusive and don’t take well to folks that aren’t “members”. This is not an inclusive community. Sad to see...

why this place is amazing I highly recommend! Really nice outdoor courts lots of various skill levels from beginner to expert and nice restrooms and water fountain good parking lots of infrastructure and amenities in the surrounding area and only $3 to play. It’s sad that Pocahontas park has turned from a place all people can enjoy, to a park staffed with people like Mickey. Mickey was extremely disrespectful, recommending we leave and “get a job” instead of playing pickleball. Would not recommend over the countless free, and well staffed alternatives...
