After a nice outing at downtown Friday my neighbor and I went to find a place to eat dinner. We came upon Sean Ryan's pub and decided to go in. It was medium crowded but we were taken right to a booth and our server was right there asking what drinks we would like. Our drinks arrived and we ordered our food. My friend ordered salmon and I felt like a tuna melt. In my mind I saw toast piled high with tuna salad and topped with cheese. When it came they were homemade potato chips and a sandwich with a little bit of tuna on the toast was hard but not toasted hard if you know what I mean the first bite surprised me because there was no cheese. Next I tried the potato chips and they had a strange taste. I asked my neighbor if she would take she tasted one and I thought she was going to choke LOL she informed me that the strange taste was rancid oil. She continued eating while I waited for our waiter to return when he did stop by I told him about my meal he said that was strange because they cook their own potatoes and she asked him how often they change the oil and he had no idea he did offer to bring me a slice of cheese ,bring me a slice of cheese you understand not take my sandwich back remake it and melt cheese on it, but by that time I was no longer hungry and not in the mood for him bringing me a slice of cheese. I never saw him again until he approached with the check which again surprised us because the bill was over $70 and there was no discount or comp for my meal nor did a manager come by and apologize or say anything to us about it. The best part we should to come though because they had a man and woman group to entertain. From our location we could not see them but we took it that the man was playing the guitar and the woman was the singer and I use that term really lightly. She started out singing and it sounded like a cat in pain. There was no way that she could hit high notes yet she tried and strained to do it. The man sitting across from us almost choked on his food and his companion was patting him on the back. We were there for three songs and they were one worse than the other. By this time the group across from this was laughing and the few people that did applaud they were saying that the reason they were clapping was because she had shut up we've been wondered if they could turned down the radio because we didn't think that any restaurant would hire people that sang that bad. My neighbor did enjoy her salmon which was cooked in a light lemon sauce but for $25 and no vegetables no side no nothing she did not feel that her meal was complete enough to return and at this point I don't think I would never return to that...
Read moreFirst and foremost... the food is amazing and the owner is nice as he can be... truly felt welcome... until we met our server....
This guy literally was the worst server I have ever had in my 32 years on this world. Working the back room kind of heavy set short black hair, I'd say his name, but after 2.5 hours he never even told us his name...
Never brought my mother water, alcohol etc... after asking him literally four times for drinks I went to the bar and ordered there instead... came out in 2 minutes so it wasn't the bartenders fault...
Ordered apps never brought plates so we sat there until another female server brought us plates... she was awesome her tables never waited for anything and she helped us despite our servers incompitence... never said anything to him, but we had to literally ask I'm not kidding at least 3 to 4 times for things before he eventually got them... he wasn't even busy...
Now this is the beyond unacceptable part... when we asked for the check (dead as hell mind you) he had another server drop it off... take it for what u want I have been a server I work 16 years successfully for many concepts as a GM, beverage director etc... the only reason he did this was out of spite for some reason... this guy should be gone like our appetite to ever come back...
Literally I observed every other server and bartender and this clown was the only one not doing his job all dang night....
The worst part is we drove an hour to eat here, as the food is literally amazing...
To the Chef sincerely, I would love to take you and hire you so you can truly showcase how good you are at your job... presentation, temperature, freshness was out of control good, however this clown working there parading around as a server will unfortunately keep me from going back...
I cannot truly tell you in words how bad this guy was from top to bottom and we still left him 20%.... a pity tip if you know what I mean...my mother who never says negative about anyone ever wanted to ask the female if she would take care of us instead or the older guy with arm tattoos he seemed like he was a great server also...

Ordered stuffed cabbage. Good but not great. Was supposed to be stuffed with beef, not lamb. They covered the cabbage and mashed potatoes(off the truck), with "ott" gravy, not tomato sauce as stated in the menu.
Prices were good. $4 bottled beer. No house wine, so wife had pay more for a more expensive label.
The restaurant was dark and drab. Dark green with black accents.
NO HAPPY hour. Seriously!!!
I was there with several other friends and no one rated their meal above 7 out of 10.
The restaurant is new, and there were a ton of snowbirds there, which begs the question how well will they do long term.
Unless they developed a compelling identity that gives you good reason to return, they may not survive the year. I know my group has no immediate plans on going back.
April 2021, been 4 years, tried it again. Had shepard's pie. Really good. They now have happy hours. Changing my rating from 3 to 5 stars. Nicely done!
Update 11/2/2024
Subsequently, SRP has become one of our go-to Saturday date night venues. The food is good, we have gotten to know some of the staff by first name, and they have live entertainment on Saturday night. Sean Ryan, the owner, is a hands-on proprietor who is always present. He is the reason I'm writing this update.
My wife and I have had a lot of great meals there over the years, but on this Saturday night, she had Mahi Florentine. After one bight, she complained that the fish was overcooked and chewy. We informed our waitress, and she took the dish away. At checkout time, there was no adjustment to the bill for the returned meal. We questioned it, and she referred it to Sean. He questioned, with an attitude, why we had waited so long to complain. He had obviously not checked with the waitress before approaching us. He later returned with an adjusted bill and a half apology.
Sean, a friendly reminder: "It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, and only one bad one to lose it." -...
