DO NOT EAT HERE! We had dinner here tonight for my brothers birthday and I will NEVER come here again. We arrived for our reservation at 6:30 on a Saturday night. By 7:00, the time we ordered, they were already out of two specials. However, we were not notified of this until we had already been waiting almost an hour for our meal and needed to switch two entrees.
We started the meal with oysters, upon arrival to the table we could immediately smell the fishy-ness. The oysters were not plated on a bed of ice and were room temperature. Not only were they warm they were fishy and DISGUSTING. The “cocktail sauce” that came with the oysters was basically marinara sauce. It should have been a plate of mozzarella sticks instead of oysters based on the temperature and sauce.
My mom got a chopped Italian salad to start and not only was it missing ingredients that were listed on the menu it came out hot as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. For her main she ordered the veal and spinach ravioli, it was INEDIBLE. Never once in my life have I spit out food but I could not stomach this. It was another level of disgusting. It was as if they were super freezer burned. The filling was dry and dusty, mealy in your mouth, the pasta was hard and chewy and the sauce was watery. I was so put off after trying that that I could not continue to eat my own meal. Chef boyardee straight from the can would have been more appetizing. I had a steak salad for my entree, they did not ask how I wanted the filet mignon that came on the salad cooked when I ordered. Of course it came out with tiny bits of extras of over cooked steak. We had three steaks, two aged ribeyes and one regular ribeye. The regular ribeye was grainy and inedible without steak sauce.
We spoke to the waitress about the ravioli and she asked if we wanted dessert. Are you kidding me!? She did not apologize for serving repulsive food or offer to remove the dish from the bill. To offer us more food that without a doubt would have also be disappointing and subpar was a slap in the face.
Not that I would have wanted this after the night we had but I told them we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation and they did not acknowledge that in any way. This place was a joke. I don’t know how else to say it. My mind is actually blown that they are still in business. After spending $500 on this experience, I would have rather lit $500 on fire then...
Read moreHad an awful experience and the worst ever at any restaurant. Went there for a celebration dinner and it was ruined. Steaks were charred black and inedible, paid no attention to allergies, did not bring out what was ordered, did a bait and switch on the specials, and took almost an hour to be served. Here are the FACTS: 1-Menu online was not what was offered in the restaurant. Expecting surf and turf as an option and was told by the waiter that is very old. 2-The waiter started off by saying that he was waiting to be fired from the place which was a red flag 3-Next red flag was when asked about the Tomahawk special-the waiter immediately said, we will cut it in the kitchen and bring it out to you, which is very odd for a steakhouse experience as half of that is usually the fanfare of it being brought to the table.
The entire situation continued to unravel from there as we ordered the filet mignon special and a regular filet mignon as my sister had mushroom allergies so no truffle butter for her. We waited OVER 45 minutes for our order and when it arrived, they brought a filet mignon WITH MUSHROOMS and no special. The Tomahawk consisted of a charred and burned black bone that looked like it had been used 6 plus times to be carted out with a clearly not Tomahawk steak as there was ~8 slices of steak equally charred beyond recognition on the outside. Where was the rest of the steak??!! They then brought out what was supposed to be the special that was clearly not a filet mignon, looked like they cut a piece of NY strip into a circle. Was 1/2 inch thick at best. Was supposed to have truffle butter and scalloped potatoes, no where in sight. Had to ASK and then brough out what looked like a slab of betty crocker potatoes. Creamed spinach was inedible. We spoke to the manager all throughout and it just went from bad to worse to awful and told them it was just an awful experience, we left enough money to cover the drinks ordered and the salads that we ate and left. Absolutely terrible. AND the best, they called the Vero Beach police the next day because we left and cut our losses on this horrible experience. Who does that when there was no service, no attention to allergies, no ability to deliver food as ordered and a general lack of professionalism and basic food prep. Do not...
Read moreWe were excited to come here. Had been living here for a couple of years and had heard lots of good things. This past Saturday we went. Booked a reservation for 2 that same afternoon via open table. Piece of cake and super easy. We showed up 20 minutes early and we were able to get seated within 5 minutes. Still great. Wait staff was busy but very attentive. Got drinks and ordered appetizers. We shared a shrimp cocktail. Was fantastic and would order it again. Super fresh and crisp shrimp. Good sized as well. Great appetizer. This is where the food went sideways. I ordered a side wedge. It was nothing like the menu. What I got was a slab of iceberg with 4 hunks of tomato distributed on the plate a dollop of blue cheese and no bacon. I sent it back and they put the bacon on it. She ordered the house salad, asked if it was field greens vs. iceberg as she wanted to have a nice field greens based salad. Received iceberg and it had 2-3 candied walnuts on the salad. Then came the steaks. She ordered prime strip prepared medium well. It was very much still bloody. They took it back and recooked it and then didn't charge us for it which was redeeming. I ordered the ribeye, medium well. Mine was cooked a little closer to medium well but still bloody. a thin pink line in the middle is my measure. Both of our steaks were red and bloody through. I just ate about half of it and left it. I have had better steaks at Texas Road House. I don't mean that as a slight, just citing my opinion on the meat. The redeeming points of this place is the wait staff. Our waitress and the manager came out and were so apologetic about my wife's steak. They did the right thing with removing it from the bill. She didn't finish it though. It was kind of flavorless. I think if they can get the kitchen right (feels like attention to detail) this place would kill it. Could be we had a bad night but I think they ought to know that we did because if it's happening to us, it's happening to others. Fix the details in the kitchen and make sure to tell the wait staff to keep doing what they are doing and VP will have my return business. I'll probably give them another try just to see if our night was a fluke.3 stars just due to the experience we had. I give the wait staff and the manager that came by our...
