BE CAREFUL. Seems like a bait & switch!!! This is the very first time I took time out of my day to write a bad review for a business, but I have to warn others just in case. This has been such a poor experience so far. When I first called about a class the owner was SUPER nice and helpful, told me about the classes and about the costs and was quick to take payment. Then I mentioned a Groupon I purchased and the mood changed QUICKLY. The vibe went from super helpful to what seemed like very annoyed. He asked when I purchased the Groupon because in Jan it was supposed to be taken down, but Groupon refuses to remove it. He said anything from Groupon after Jan would not be honored, but that's all good because I purchased in Nov. Finally he confirmed that someone would be reaching out to me for further information on our next steps.........AND that was the last time I heard from him lol. Won't answer his phone, texts from me, and I've been nothing but polite in trying to find a resolution. Sorry it ended up this way, and hope no one else falls for this like I did. Here is a screenshot of my text to them trying to follow up on our agreement.

I bought my husband a mixed shot making Groupon at Bar Academy 101 for Valentine’s Day. When we arrived Rob, the owner, greeted us at the door. He then walked us over to the “bar” we would be working at and explained the other events occurring that evening. The vibe of the room was a gentle hum. The energy was positive and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Rob kicked us off with a lesson in how to count a pour, how to properly mix and shake, as well as how to serve a drink. Rob offered us a menu of mixed shots. He observed us for the first few shots. When he saw how comfortable we were, he left us to our own devices to mix what was on the menu and serve each other. To say we had a blast would be an understatement. We look forward to returning alone and with friends. What a fun place to spend an hour or two (or maybe a day if you’re thinking of getting your bartender’s certification).

If you have come across Bar Academy and are wondering whether or not to go for an event- I recommend 100%. I have been to about 10 different tastings/classes and each time is so exciting and fun! The owner, Rob, is so sweet and funny! He will have a conversation with you like you’ve been good friends for years (even if you just met him that night!) I have brought my boyfriend, best friends and co-workers and everyone has such a great time and asks the next time we’re going back! The tastings and classes are paced to your liking, if that’s what you’re wondering….Some days I have left needing a designated driver and others with a slight buzz. Lol. The music and atmosphere is great!! 1000 stars! My favorite place to go for date nights, birthdays, celebrations or just a night to get out of the house! My all time favorite class is the sangria making challenge! Went to that class 3x already! Lol.
