I have been purchasing flowers and plants from here for years. During this time of year they offer a petting zoo for the children to enjoy. When I stopped by yesterday to purchase a pumpkin I pulled up along side a makeshift stall that a young baby calf was in.
I couldn't believe how unhappy and sad this poor animal looked. There were so many flies around it, that it couldn't find any way to get comfortable. The under side of its belly was so red and raw from what looked like an infection. It had a dirty stall with a bowl full of water that looked like mud. It was so skinny that I couldn't tell if it was shivering from fear or from being cold. It's back side was so full of feces. It was just a terrible sight.
When I asked an employee to change its water they said that the animal only drinks milk, but it was not a good eater. I wonder what kind of milk it's getting. This poor animal needs to go back to the farm it came from with its mother for nourishment and love.

Separately- the sweet farm animals they bring in for fall are a must! He said them from spotter, and then they go to a great farm in NJ post. Great tradition going on 60 years....
