We bought two tickets for the 7PM showing of Howl's Moving Castle for the 20th anniversary of the movie, we bought tickets to the English dub no subtitles version. We get to the theater at 6:45 and buy our outrageously overpriced snacks... $17 for popcorn so stale it felt like Styrofoam (it literally was inedible, we threw it away) and a watered down soda without ice because there wasn't ice apparently. We get into the theater and the movie doesn't start until 7:15, not because of trailers, they just didn't start the movie. A member of the audience went to tell them and they said they "radioed someone about it" and the movie started after that. Then when it started it was in Japanese with English subtitles. Not what we paid for. This was supposed to be the English showing. A member of the audience also left to tell them this wasn't right and was told there was "an issue" so apparently they were just going to play the wrong version of the movie. My husband and I left because this was really just a miserable experience, which sucks, because this movie is only in theaters this week as an anniversary special so we just don't get to see it in the theater now. I requested a refund and was told refunds can only be given prior to showtime which is insane since I literally didn't even get the movie that I paid for they just played a different version of the movie and were like "oh well sorry no refund" I will never ever come here again. I'll make the longer drive to go Evansville in the future, this place is awful.
update: I contacted AMC and they will not refund me period, despite the fact the theater literally played the wrong movie. I essentially threw thirty...
Read moreOrdered tickets and concessions on the AMC app to see The Invitation. Showed up about 40 minutes later, for them to tell me they aren't selling tickets to it, due to a projector issue. When I asked why it wasn't reported on the app, the manager said that it just happened that morning... Yet, it was a 4:15 showing, and not their first movie of the day. The manager wasn't friendly at all and told me to process the refund through the app. After showing her that I couldn't, I explained that I had to get a babysitter, drove 30 minutes, and couldn't see the movie due to them not updating their showtimes... She said all she could do was refund me the tickets. I explained that there was an online convenience fee AND $16 in concessions that I needed to be refunded. While helping me, she was making snide comments to the ticket counter worker, saying "It's gonna be a long Monday". After 15 minutes, I was refunded, no apology, no consideration for my troubles that were caused by negligence on their part... Just handed my receipt and that was all. I'll come back, because I love AMC theatres, but the customer service was horrible today, and a lack of compassion for people who go out of their way to see a movie at their location...
Read moreIf I could give this cinema a zero or a minus I would. My family and I went there to see a movie the evening of Dec 26th, 2021... I had my service dog with me. My dog doubles as a registered service dog and a registered ESA. This place refused my dog into the theater!! Even after I provided proof, which by law I do not have to do. The man kept telling me he had to have a vest on, which again by law,He does not. When I asked for the GMs phone number.. That was refused to me. My elderly mother had her hand on a plastic line guide pole.. This man tried to grab ahold of her hand! The man ..( Braylynn, or something like that) asked us to leave when I asked for a higher up number. He threatened to call the police and have me removed from the building.. I told him I would call the police myself.. Which my husband was soo upset he wouldnt even wait for me to do. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.. AGAINST THE LAW ESTABLISHMENT!! IF YOU ARE DISABLED PLEASE DONT ATTEMPT TO GO HERE WITH YOUR ANIMAL!!.. To the man who refused us... Your lucky my husband is the man he is, and that he currently has a broken arm... Or you would be sitting in...
