Great location close to everything. Plenty of safe parking. Nice pantry area for food and alcohol purchase. As a Diamond member we spend a lot of time at Hampton Inns across the country and this had the feel of a newer place when we walked in but there were issues. I usually do a digital check in the day before and pick out our room which I did but there was snafu at front desk. The clerk was caught up in conversation with a very unhappy guest and there was another lady waiting. It was getting backed up and she was there by herself. She was exasperated and I waited for what felt like 20 plus minutes and she griped that she was there by herself. Then wanted to argue that I had not checked in by phone and I showed her my phone. She could not multi-task 3 guests which is kind of basic. No need to argue with a customer under any circumstance, especially a 70 year old gramma. I had to advise her I was a Diamond member, which usually pops up on computer and request the bag, she handed me a bag with a water and warm Diet Coke inside, usually they ask you what you want from the case and you pick. I handed her back the Diet Coke and asked for 2 waters. Then she seemed perturbed when I asked for 2 keys one for me and one for my husband. She was very unhappy, maybe she was overtired. We had a 2 day stay and there were computer issues several times but clicked back on fine. Food was good, dining area and lobby area was nice. Bathroom in the room needed a bit of scrubbing but I was too tired to care. I liked that the shower faucet was opposite end from shower head. The room was clean and Ac worked well. Male desk clerks were super courteous. This could really notch up the stars with a rigorous cleaning of rooms and customer service training for desk clerk or put 2 people on during high volume times. We would stay...
Read moreThis is not the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. That said, there are some shortcomings that you should be aware of before you stay. The room I was in, and this was also commented on by other family members staying in other rooms, the bed was extremely firm. I can get past the bed being firm, but the pillows were not firm at all. They were super squishy. I had to stack 3 of them together just to equal what a normal pillow would have been. The moldings in the shower are in need of touch up. They don't look like they have been touched in a while. If I hadn't had flip-flops with me, I don't know if I would have dared step foot in the shower. Finally, while there is free wifi, its not high speed wifi. You have to pay an additional $5 for that. In this pandemic world we liv in, everyone needs high speed internet. Charging extra for it, feels like it should be considered a sin.
There is a fridge and microwave in the room. That is always good though I didn't use them. There must be an iron too cause there were about 10 questions about the iron in the survey before I could write this review. I have never ironed anything in a hotel room. I really liked there was a real thermostat in the room to control the heat/AC. The room was a good temperature when I arrived and stayed comfortable the entire time.
I tried using the app to check out. It literally says in the app that its the best way to check out. But when I clicked that button it said I had to go down to the front desk. I was already in the car ready to go, so it was a bit of a bummer that I had to go back inside.
Overall, I didn't have a bad stay. I would consider it middle of the road. I have family that live near by and if I decide to stay over I might consider this...
Read moreWe were passing through, so this is for a one-night stay. ||Outdoors, property was clean and inviting. It was located off the main road, so that noise was almost non-existent. The side roads around the hotel seemed to be a speedway for some high performance cars throughout the evening. Otherwise, it was peace and quiet. ||We had a first floor room which was very convenient. Room was nice and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room also had a sofa bed, ottoman, and office chair for watching TV. Not many channels, and the guide was not functional. Never did find ABC channel after scrolling. It did have a lot of HBO channels though. Our room phone must have had a previous wake-up call programmed into it. The first ring came around 2a; second ring was at 2:30a. Even though we mentioned this to the receptionist, there didn’t seem to be an urgency to remove it from the phone. ||The bathroom had a shower instead of bathtub, which is what we prefer. The bathroom walls need a thorough cleaning. There was what appeared to be spilled coffee on outside of shower and on walls. The tile floor probably needs a steam clean for the grout. It was nice to have plenty of towels. ||The breakfast area was very clean and maintained, but the choices were poor. Instead of scrambled eggs, they had “topped” bagel bites. The rest of the choices were carb-heavy. Not up to par with a good Hampton breakfast. ||And lastly, the front desk receptionists (night or day) were not very enthusiastic. ||Comfortable stay, and could be a 4 or 5 star with some east clean up and customer service...
