In my opinion, Ponderosa Steakhouse and Buffet has long worn out it's time here in Vincennes Indiana.
Our city is growing and developing in awesome new ways constantly!!
Unfortunately, Ponderosa is our only real buffet option. So we all spend hundreds of dollars to take our families out to eat at a less than sub-par, dirty, old, understanderstated, very overpriced Ponderosa Steakhouse and Buffet.
Where we are served heat lamp dried up foods, undercooked meats, sloppy dishes, cauliflower with 1 small dab of cheese, unsauced meatballs, chicken wings with a disgusting flavor of breading now, salads that are wet and soft, a filthy salad dressing station (dressing spilled on the handles of the dressing ladels) super limited toppings for salads, croutons that are rock hard from sitting out all day uncovered. Soups that are always burned to the bottom of the pots! Scoop from the top if you want an acceptable serving.
Desserts sloppily prepared. Whipped cream, sticky cherry glaze, and cookie bits spilled here and there all over the cold bar/dessert area.
Ice cream machine that only sometimes works? Out of the Vanilla, Swirl, Chocolate options of the machine here, during each of my visits only 1 is ever ready and working. Last time it was only Chocolate, time before only Vanilla.
Citizens, Families of Vincennes Indiana; Let's be heard! Let's tell Ponderosa our complaints, our compliments, our opinions, our expectations! Give them a chance to improve & show us that they can be like they were when they first came here again. Or let's try to get a new buffet option put in Vincennes that takes pride in what they serve a little more and cares about our families happiness and the value we receive for the high amount of money we spend there...
Personally this past 3 1/2 months Ponderosa Steakhouse and Buffet has gotten me and my family for $70-$120 on each of our 4 visits this year alone!! Very hard earned money, I expected alot better. :( Bummed.
Please help me to help you!! The residents of Vincennes Indiana deserve so much...
Read moreWe had a friendly conversation with the guy who took our order when we came in, he was a very nice man. Our waitress was also very nice and gave us good service. The buffet and salad bar was all really good and fresh. (They do provide hand sanitizer at the buffet and ask/require that customers use it before getting their food, so please follow their guidelines, its pretty simple considering everything else we've been through over the past year or so.) It was so nice to be able to go somewhere and be able to have salad bar again! Covid has ruined the ability to enjoy the simple things in life, every restaurant has stopped operating salad bars or buffets and are hesitant to start them back it seems.. My husband and I ordered the ribeye steak (medium) and baked potato with our buffets. I believe it was like $4 more to add the steak to the buffet price so we figured why not. Well my eyes are always bigger than stomach, so there was no way I was going to eat salad, buffet, steak and baked potato! But I had been craving Ponderosa salad bar so I was going to do my best. I had one trip to the salad bar, and a roll. I had my baked potato, which was good along with the salad, and roll. I did manage to eat a few bites of my steak before calling it quits although I found my steak to be a little on the chewy/tough side. My husband had no problem finishing his steak and later finished my steak also. I believe in the future I will just stick to the buffet and skip the steak. I never made it...
Read moreI only have one complaint. Today when I walked in the door, I seen the cashier and I noticed she had a very noticeable attitude, but I didn’t really think anything of it till I went up to the front desk after me and my friend got done eating our food. We went to get some change But the cashier seemed to not like that for some weird reason. We asked for a some quarters, and my friend gave her a couple dollar bills. The cashier said that she “wasn’t going to do that” Me and my friend were really confused at that point, so we didn’t say anything so she ended up doing it anyways. Whenever she was done, she said “ there, I did it.“ we said thank you, and then walked out the door but before we walked out, I noticed she was being really rude to other customers as well not just us. Which maybe she was having a really bad day which is understandable I’m a cashier as well, but I wouldn’t be rubbing my attitude off onto the customers that I have. Like not only was she rude, but she was very disrespectful for no reason. I don’t really wanna be that kind of person that makes a huge complaint but when people are rude out of nowhere, I can’t stand to not say something. I didn’t catch a name or anything but the lady was fairly old, dark hair, and I think she had glasses. But overall the food...
