Croatan Beach, Virginia — Attraction in Virginia Beach

Croatan beach is a hidden gem! If a friend hadn't told me about this beach, I wouldn't have known it was here! There are no signs that indicate it's location and you cannot see the beach or the parking lot from the main road. All day parking costs $5.00, unless you reside in Virginia Beach, then it's only $3.00. The lot has plenty of room and wasn't even half full on the day we visited. According to posted signs, the parking lot closes at 8:00 PM and vehicles remaining in the lot will be towed. There is a public bathroom and showers/spigots for rinsing off as well as a walk way to the beach. The beach is divided into a surfing side and a swimming side and there is a life guard on duty. There aren't any food vendors or shops, which is why I love it here! That being said, if you are planning to stay a while, be sure to bring your sunscreen and cooler. This is a beautiful place to spend the day catching waves or laying out in the sun & reading a book without falling over all the tourists. Love...

Croatan Beach is in a beautiful residential neighborhood in Virginia Beach. Croatan Beach is a beautiful coastal destination on Atlantic Avenue. Croatan Beach has the most pristine views and shorelines of all beaches in Virginia Beach. Croatan Beach is near Rudee Inlet and Camp Pendleton. There is a public parking lot with beach access on the south end of Croatan. The parking lot is a little distance from the beach. We absolutely LOVE this beach. It is a little ways away from the hustle & bustle of the tourist beach area. A little gem that is beautiful, much more quiet and less populated.
