Long review - you're gonna want to read the whole thing. We booked the 1 bedroom suite - two double beds in the room, restroom in between, kitchenette, living room with a double bed pullout couch, oceanfront balcony. I'm going to do a pro/con list: Pro: two beds and tv in the bedroom area, huge closet. Beach towels included - the beach towels are a good size and nice absorbency. Cons: double beds? Two adults cannot comfortably sleep in a double bed. The room is also very compact - no one really uses closets on vacation, that's plenty of usable space. The doors were off track on the closet. Pro: Tub/shower combo, sink separate from the toilet and tub area. Cons: the bathroom itself is about 4 feet across - I (5'4") can stand in the middle of the bathroom, reach out to the sides and touch both walls. It's extremely tight. You have to leave the door open to bathe your child. The door wouldn't close without you turning the handle and the lock was broken. If you close the door too hard, the fan cover falls off. You have to contort your body to reach the toilet tissue while sitting on the toilet. Pro: the sink is separate from the toilet/tub area so that multiple people can use the space. Con: none here really, just a super tight space. Pro: kitchenette with decent sized fridge and all the necessary kitchen utensils - except an oven. The silver, plates, and pans were in pristine condition. Cons: it's too small! (See the theme here?) I had plans on cooking breakfast and at least one dinner during our stay. There's no oven - the kitchen is so tight, you won't want to do anything but use the microwave at best. Pro: pullout couch Cons: it is in serious need of a deep cleaning. It was covered with stains. The couch cushions need to be reupholstered. They're just too saggy. Pro: air conditioner. Con: each time the AC comes on, it sounds like someone is opening the door and it's extremely loud while it's running. If you were able to fall asleep, good luck staying asleep with the AC kicking on all night. Pro: Balcony. Con: nothing here. Pros: indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub, kiddie pool Cons: Outdoor pool - the outdoor pool is small. There is a small area of 3.5 feet, small area of 4.5 feet, then straight to 6 feet. You have to climb up and down a ladder to get in the pool. The pool is very small and then they hosted water aerobics while we were swimming. Bad look. Indoor pool - the whole pool is 5 feet deep. Kiddie pool - probably the best pool here . No cons for this one. Hot tub - the jets are too low for your back. When you step in, it kid of drops off, enter with extreme caution. Decent hot tub otherwise. The parking deck for this hotel is terrible. The front desk staff warned that it is tight - that's an understatement. We parked in the overflow lot after we finally were able to maneuver the car out of the deck. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The activities that were offered seemed cool but when you send a text to reserve, they don't reply. This hotel is in a great location for walking down the boardwalk to restaurants and the pier. Overall, this place will suffice if it's the last minute and options are limited - not for me tho. I will not...
Read moreFamily and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. There are some pros and cons to this resort: Cons: It's an old hotel and the rooms show their age. The furniture was broken or stained and the kitchenette is so small that you can't fully open the drawers/cabinets if you're standing in it. The grout in the tile is dirty and the laminate was bubbling up in certain areas. Our shower actually broke at one point and it took a while for maintenance to come out. It wasn't the building engineer's fault, he said he didn't get the notification until two hours after we had reported it. However, he came and fixed it super quick and he was super nice. There are three elevators but one broke during our time and the others take FOREVER. We were standing there are one point for 10 minutes waiting for the elevator. If you drive anything larger than a moped, you WILL NOT FIT in the parking structure. I don't know how some of these vehicles get in/out because it is very tiny and you'll likely get some curb rash or rub a bumper against the wall. Do yourself a favor and park in their outdoor lot just across the street. Price. Not only was it expensive but we also got nickel-and-dimed for everything. Parking was extra. Wifi was extra. Convenience fee. For the price you're paying, you would think all this would be included.
PROS: You couldn't ask for a better location. It's more towards the south end of resort beach so there's not as many people so it was way easier to get to the beach. It was nice having a room on an upper level but I almost wish we had a ground floor so we could have walked across the board walk onto the beach. The view is amazing. We could watch the sunrise and even saw whales and dolphins on occasion. There are two pools. The one on the ground floor is more for kids/families while the one on the seventh floor is for adults. Neither were ever really packed and there was always plenty of seating. The rooftop pool had a view of the beach so it was nice to get out of the pool and look out at the ocean. The staff are great. They were always punctual and they communicate via text which I felt was better than having to call and hope someone picked up. There were a few times we asked for additional TP and towels and they were very quick to provide what we asked for. Very easy to walk or drive to stuff along the beach. It's a short walk to eating establishments and activities. If you go when they do fireworks near the pier, you have a great view of it.
My overall opinion is it was a nice stay. However, I may look at other resorts if I plan on going...
Read moreVery disappointed in this hotel. My mom booked the room for myself, my 2 children, and sister. We were debating staying at 2 places but decided to pay the extra money to stay at this hotel instead of the other. First, the parking garage is too small. It was a very tight fit and are only able to enter and exit one way due to the renovations which make it very difficult to get out of the parking lot. Second, the room is much smaller then what was shown in the pictures. When we went into our room the door almost hit the bed that was squished into the room. Too tiny of a bathroom barley allows you room to move in the bathroom. Thirdly, the room was dirty and everything was sticky. When we reserved the room we asked for a crib for my daughter. When we got to the room there was no crib so we called down for one to be brought up. When I was setting the pack and play up there was a roach in the bottom of the pack and play. I screamed and pushed the pack and play out of the room as quickly as possible. Then examined the room the rest of the way to make sure we didn’t see anything else. We had to wipe everything down with wipes. And the clean trash bags that were in the trash bags had some sort of icing or sweet smelling substance on it. When I called to complain I simply got a sorry, I’ll talk to the housekeeping manager. Fourth, the doors are very heavy and very concerning in regards to safety. All of the doors slam close and are too heavy to hold open while moving in and out with stuff. Also, both door locks on the top of the door was broken. The vault lock worked so we weren’t too concerned however, if I were there alone or with my kids by myself I would not stay, and my mom refused to shower if she was alone and not in the room with us. There was no welcome packet, unless you took the time share check to the concierge and even then all of had was a few booklets with coupons. I would say the only good things about this hotel were that the staff you run into in the halls are nice people, and you are allowed to use the turtle cove pools which are really really Cool and much cleaner and nicer then the pools offered at the beach quarters. I know they are renovating, but am really hoping they are making many many more changes, then the paint color on the outside of the building. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will not...
