At home visting but we will be moving here temp for a year and I was excited to see the OTF here. I was assigned to station 1 with no one inbetween. I guess someone was there to do an evaluation and when we went on the floor, my bench was against the wall sideways not under my number with 2- 35lb weights on top of it and #2s bench was under mine. The evaluation woman sat on bench 3 turning it completely sideways…taking up room and just sitting with a clipboard. I often ask myself are people just that unaware how rude they’re being? While the girl on 3 took up not only my area but the rest of the area. Her bench was under my number. I asked if it was my bench bc why would her bench be under my number? She said it was hers and didn’t move it whatsoever which essentially cornered me into a small space.
It’s not my job to tell entitled ppl to be aware of their surroundings and it also puts us in an uncomfortable position to have any confrontations coming into a new space. They obviously knew I was coming bc my paperwork was ready. The instructor saw the space was not in the right position and should’ve had this fixed. At one point, I slammed/moved my bench to let her know she was the epitome of entitlement and she “moved her bench over just enough where it was now inbetween 1/2. My kid had been here and also had issues with invasion of spaces. Not pulling the race card but when ur ot white and my kid is 75% black and im half, being put in a position to have to ask someone in a 98% white studio to move over is already uncomfortable for us. The fact OTF makes it like that on purpose should be more of a reason to be attentive to it.
At my home gyms, when someone comes from another studio, they always welcome them to other members (not that I need that) and my coaches have always made sure to make sure they were comfortable and the space was apparent for them.
Also, the tread machines need a serious upgrade.
Going to check out the other OTFs to see which one I will transfer to. As a mixed woman, it brought me back to the good ol’ Cox/FC attitudes....
Read moreI was under the impression that I would not be charged another month for my Orangetheory membership. I loved the workout when I first started; however, injured my back during one of the workouts. On Wednesday, February 7th, while on the weight floor, the trainer informed the class the minimum weight limit for the females in the group that day was 12 pounds. We were doing dead lifts and bent over rows and a few other things with the weights. I know that my limit at that point in time was only 10. So that is the weight I was using. The trainer pushed and encouraged myself and the girl beside me to use the 12 pound weights. So we both switched to the heavier weights. When I went home that evening, I could barely move. I couldn't even reach down to wash my legs or feet in the shower. And had to take the next day off of work, because I could barely move. When I was able to go in a few weeks later to cancel my membership, I had apparently gone in ONE day too late and was charged for another month (even though I was not using it). And when I explained what had happened to the girls at the front desk, they said they would have to talk it over with the manager who wouldn't be in until the next day. The next day, they left me a voicemail saying there was nothing the manager could do and I would be charged for the month of March. Now it is April and I am still being charged for a membership that I am not using. I would have definitely recommended Orangetheory to my friends and family. After trying it out, I know it is not the right fit for me, but maybe it is for them. But after all of this, I can't recommend this establishment to anyone. All I really want is my money back for the month of April and to stop being charged. Even though I haven't used it since...
Read moreI’ve been a member for a couple years, this location under a year but I been to a couple other studios. I love the atmosphere and I’ve gotten really great results! I’m currently in the military and I had to unfortunately put in my 30 day notice (in March) due to me transferring to California and deploying. Because of the Coronavirus the studio closed down, and there was a hold on my orders due to the the travel ban for the Navy, now I’m not leaving until end of July. So I been waiting to hear news about the studio opening up .. haven’t received emails and I don’t follow there Facebook or instagram page I’m never on there anyways. I did get an email around end of March when they shut down and was told they are FREEZING everyone’s account until they open up again. Months goes by and my one life gym is opened I received there email, still nothing from Orange Theory. Then today I FINALLY get something. Talks about a challenge.. so hmm made me curious so I gave them a call. Finding out they ARE open, and was told my account was terminated April 12th that’s WHY I didn’t receive emails because I didn’t reach out to them and let them know I didn’t leave yet? So I ask them so that’s it I paid for a months worth of classes which I believe was unlimited which is quite expensive and I get told “well we don’t have month to month offers but we have other packages or we can do two months. “ .. umm. I’m sorry but you aren’t going to work with me at all? Give me at least the time I didn’t get to use? Which is about 18-20 days I believe. That’s a total scam to me. Not very good Customer service ... you should definitely work with the clients. It’s not fair that I paid for a month worth and didn’t...
