I can't really write a horrible review on this place. Yes, it is not your typical oceanfront resort. But it is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Pros: clean rooms, clean bathroom and shower, near a great beach, good restaurants and state parks and attractions, very affordable, dog friendly ($25 per night), to-go bfast, good parking, great staff, comfortable rooms. Cons: A bit outdated, needs a little facelift here and there. On a personal note I was surprised the place was not as terrible as some people described it. Evidently, you get what you pay for and realistically you are paying a third here of what you pay in Va Beach. This is an area I have never explored in VB and I am really glad I stayed here. You can't beat the location. Don't expect too much out of the continental breakfast, it's just a grab and go snack, good coffee though. I feel you have to come to this hotel with the expectation to use it as a room to relax and sleep after a long day at the beach, not to have the resort experience. AC worked just fine and TV as well. For the most part it was pretty quiet at night, but then again I stayed here in March. I did enjoy the low-key slow pace of the area in comparison to the boardwalk.

Horrible and VERY dirty. My husband and I took our 11 month old daughter for a birthday vacation and let me just say the pictures DO NOT match in person. There was black mold in the caulking all around the bottom of the shower and the room smelled like cigarettes bad. It looked like the floor hadn’t been swept or mopped either. Switched to another room and it was alittle cleaner but the bed sheets were dirty, damp and stunk. There was black mold in the crack of the wood on the headboard. Before getting a refund we were given the opportunity to view another room and there was a BIG dead COCKROACH on the floor. When I came back down and told the front desk receptionist it wouldn’t work and that there was a roach on the floor and a live roach outside of the room she laughed. We are very disappointed considering it was 5 minutes from the beach. Just pay the extra couple hundred and go to a better hotel, this isn’t worth it and they actually need shut down.

We love staying at this place! Our past couple stays we’ve noticed that the rooms are being cared for much better than before. Check in takes like 5 min and is always a breeze! Very friendly service. Plus you cannot beat the location. Beach access, grocery store, restaurants in walking distance, just an overall Beautiful, peaceful area. We work all around the area about 1 week a month and no matter where we’re working, my husband always wants to stay here. We love finding and watching the crabs on the beach. Last time we found a Whelk Sack! Super neat, rare find. Also very affordable. I love the sweet person who puts out dog treats and water on their property for furbabies passing by. ❤️❤️⛱☀️🌊🏝👙🏖

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!! For fear of being accused of libel I won’t say that my dog contracted ringworm from the unsanitary room, but I will say that he was infected shortly after our trip. I am unable to come up with any other source of possible contact with the fungus. Upon check in I was met with an unexpected $60 charge for having my dog with me. I suppose it was naive of me to assume that the pet friendly accommodation was included in the original quoted price. Got into the room, the very tiny room I might add, and upon inspecting the bed I found that the sheets and comforter had colored print on them, making it impossible for them to have ever been sanitized with bleach. The comforter was dingy and stained. We requested new sheets and a new comforter and the comforter we got looked like it had been used as a drop cloth for an art class. But, the gentleman assured us it had just been taken out of the sanitizing machine. We begrudgingly accepted because it was late and we were tired. Hot water barely worked and the water pressure was so low at times it actually cut off completely. House keeping did not come by once during our stay, nor were we ever offered clean towels or wash cloths. After returning home our dog began to itch and developed bumps and rashes on his belly. After further investigation we came to unfortunate realization that he had contracted ringworm, and like I said, we were unable to pin down any other source of infection. I’ll leave the verdict up to you. We called the hotel and spoke with “Jack.” What started out as a polite interaction quickly turned into hostility on the part of ol Jacky boy. He claimed we were extorting him because we felt obligated to share our experience with others online. We did not ask for a refund, but instead asked if he had any suggestions on how to make this situation right because we were now having to come out of pocket to treat our animal for this infection and sanitize our home. He told me I “had that look about me when I checked in” and he just knew I was gonna end up asking for my money back. He threatened that the owners of the hotel were lawyers and what I was doing was illegal. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else in the area. This hotel and its staff are disgusting and they offer absolutely nothing that you can’t get at another establishment. By far the biggest fail in customer service and morality I’ve ever...

Tl;dr Room was filthy, cleaned it up myself and was told I'd get a refund of the night but was instead strung along for months and did not receive any recompense for a room I didn't even end up staying in.

The story: Stayed at this place a few months back. Walk into the room and I can feel sand beneath my shoes. It's at the beach so nbd, I decide to sweep up and ask to borrow a broom from the front desk. I ended up sweeping up a SIZABLE pile of dirt, which the front desk associate notices and apologizes profusely, stating that it was unacceptable and they would refund my night for me. I thought that was very sweet and I was only staying one night anyway, so cool free hotel stay. Well, something came up and I didn't stay the night in the end, left at about 8 or 9pm, by then there was a different person at the front desk who told me the refund would take about a week and noted that I wouldn't be staying the night, turned in the key and drove off. I waited two weeks before contacting the hotel about the refund, who then stated that since I booked through expedia I needed to refund through them, and was supposed to have been told this. Okay that's doable, popped over to expedia immediately for the refund request. Next day expedia informs me the manager DENIED any form of refund request, so I called asap and asked what was up. I got the same front desk associate who offered me the refund, stating that things got weird because the person that was there the night I left was fired very soon after, and the manager doesn't know the full situation and I needed to call back and speak to her. Took me about a week to get in contact with the manager, who said she knew about the situation but that I was offered a discount, not a refund. She wasn't there at any point so I have no idea how she could say this with such certainty, but I was told I would have my "Night refunded" which doesn't sound like any kind of discount. More shenanigans and calling back and forth ensue and in the end nothing came of it, seems the service workers are liars and the management is penching pennies hard enough to shear them in twain refusing to abide by their weird or provide any consolation for filthy rooms that the guests spent time...

I cannot describe in words how gross this place is but I'll try. First our bed linens wer covered in hair. Both comforters had cigarette burns in several places even tho we were in a no smoking room floors were filthy bath tub OMG we had to go buy cleaner ourselfs and clean the bathroom. We ruined two wash clothes and a towel cleaning the tub of mold and gunk the curtain rod was dangling by one screw asked them to fix and nothing had to Jerry rig the damn thing so we could shower the wall of the shower had tape all over it because it had big cracks in the plastic. The handle to the door in the bathroom fell off thank God I wasn't inside and trapped when it did inside of trash cans looked like someone threw up in them and they just put the bag over them. The pool was dirty when asked if they could clean the debree out they used the excuse the pump was broken and closed it for 3days. There were holes all over the rooms walls only one girl cleaned our room decent her name was Jennifer I think she could do better if she had the rite supplies and tools to do her job rite one day we were left with no towles wash clothes or hand towels when we asked for them we got 4 towels and 2 wash clothes and we're to lazy to get us the rest of what we needed please find somewhere else to stay if you want to enjoy your vacation in case you actually need to use your room for anything other than a place to...
