My first impression of the bookstore was filled with promise. It was easy to navigate online, books were easy to order, and the prices were surprisingly decent. However, they weren't able to get a few books that I needed, even with a few weeks notice in advance. I ended up getting them on Amazon in a matter of days. Due to the pandemic, you couldn't go inside. Easy enough, they had curbside pickup. However, the poor employee had to search twice for my orders, even though I had the confirmation on my phone. At one point near the start of school, I had to go on campus to pick up a book and return one. They used a QR code for you to scan and fill in a simple form. We waited in the heat outside for them to retrieve the books inside. Again, easy enough. However, Rowan, the employee working the counter, was extremely put out by my request to return my book. She said she'd get to me "when she could" which translated into ignoring me while she continued to hand out more books. I finally had enough after 30 minutes and went up to her table to tell her I needed to get back to work and I was tired of being ignored. With eyes rolling and a heavy exaggerated sigh, she told me I could leave my book on the table and she would process it later. I did get the refund later that day. I get that it was hot and stressful, but returns are as much of the job as...
Read moreI brought my laptop in for a screen issue and was actually charged more for the diagnostic than what their website has listed. They said I could replace the screen, but couldn’t guarantee it would fix the problem, so I decided not to move forward and arranged to pick it up.
They confirmed my pickup time by email, but when I arrived, there was no one at the front and no sign to indicate where the staff were or when they’d return. I waited and emailed, but didn’t get a reply until nearly an hour later.
When I got my laptop back, I discovered holes drilled into the bottom corners that were not there before. The general employee questioned whether they were new, as if I wouldn’t notice such obvious damage, and told me to pick up the laptop tomorrow. The next day, the Repair Center admitted the damage was caused when someone used screws that were too long, puncturing the case.
Despite this, no one offered an apology, any form of compensation, or even acknowledgment of how unprofessional this was. Instead, they offered to “sand down” the holes, as if that would undo the damage.
I left with a laptop in worse condition than when I brought it in, and with no accountability from the staff. I would not trust them...
Read moreIf you are a student, avoid buying books from this place. Their book return windows are only two days long and the books are overpriced. I strongly recommend buying books from other websites like Amazon. I would only buy from here if a course requires books specifically designed for Baylor courses or if you need a school supply in a hurry. Other than that, buying books from here is a no go.
Good thing about the book store is that they have a great selection of official Baylor clothings from t-shirts to jackets. They also sell small items like magnets and such if you are into that. Clothes are expensive from a student perspective but great for gifts.
Overall, it is a fine place to buy official Baylor apparels, but I am not a big fan of...
