I'm giving them 5 starts because the guides are just so darn cute! Our guides were Baxter & Phoenix. They had both just graduated from Texas A&M & were very knowledgable and so sweet! This company was started by two couples that are known by Chip & JoAnna and were featured on the show. This is the 1st tour I have ever taken where the guides start with a sweet heart-felt prayer. Speaking of sweet, our second stop was at an ice cream shop where we were treated to a small cup of house made ice cream. Our first stop was at Jimmy Don's metal shop. He had some nice things and offered us a 15% discount, but I just didn't have room in my luggage or budget for anything. His prices are reasonable though and Jimmy Don was there to shake our hands and greet us. We got to see a gracious amount of "Fixer Upper" homes including the Castle. We did get to go through some of the minority neighborhoods and got a history lesson on all aspects of life in Waco, including a mention about the David Koresh ordeal. They do a great job of making the tour interactive: using guests first names, having us sing, "Deep in the Heart of Texas", and doing some sort of dance. Overall it was a really fun tour and a great tour company. The van is very nice and comfortable, but a little warm on the first bench, but Phoenix remedied that. I'm not sure why the only photo I took was at "Lover's Leap" lookout.

Waco Tour Delivered A “Homey” Experience We started our visit of Waco with a Waco City Tour, and we were glad we did. The 2.5-hour tour gave us a great overview of Waco and highlighted the city’s history. Tony was relieved that the tour was so much more than a HGTV tour—although, there were enough “Fixer Upper” details to make me happy too! We did get to see Joanna’s first store, the Castle (remember those shows?), the Gaines’ first family home and a few of the renovated “Fixer Uppers.” Who can forget the “Shotgun House”? Our two tour guides (Dano & Leia) led a van of six tourists (including us!), shared highlights from “Fixer Upper,” took us downtown (including a quick curb stop by Harp Design) and showed us Cameron Park. They also gave us a great overview of how the city is laid out—nothing is far away and several sights can be visited on foot from a central parking spot. The tour left us wanting to know more about Waco, which is so much more than an HGTV destination. We also stopped at a cute ice cream/ coffee stop. The headquarters for Waco Tours is a Joanna-inspired space that we were encouraged to use as our “living room” while we were in Waco. The tour ended with a coupon book of deals to enjoy on the rest of our visit. We would highly recommend this tour & would love to take the evening boat tour on our next visit to Waco.

My wife and I have been blessed to have been able to travel quite a bit and although I will have to say that Waco itself is not one of my Top Places to visit, I will have to say that this tour (the staff) was one of the best tours, if not the best, that we have ever been on. Out of all the paid tours we have taken around the Country, Waco Tours (big shout out to Daniel & Ross) was fantastic. We have never experienced a tour with so much interaction and being called by our name repeatedly.... ever! Waco Tours Company and staff from the time you enter their office to the end of the tour is "The Real Deal". The personal touch, interaction, blessing at the beginning of the tour are Top Notch, no wonder they are rated high and receiving awards. The content and knowledge that our guides shared with us of the Waco Area was great. We would definitely recommend taking any of the tours that they offer, we took their River Cruise the following evening and it was great as well - I will write another review on that tour:) Highly Recommend Waco Tours!

As part of her surprise birthday weekend, I booked our whole family of 7 (3 young grandkids included) for the river tour. We had a bit of a rough start because there was a huge concert event going on at the football stadium, but the tour folks were right on it and got is all going and what a great time we had.

My wife was very surprised and the rest of the family loved it as well. It was a late afternoon/ early evening river run and moving through the cliffs and lush folliage along the river was spectacular as the sun started to go down. It was almost more like a cool summer evening.

Even living in the area, you just never get to see the river...from the river! It's always from an adjacent roadway or the bridge overpass. However, this is tremendously immersive because you're right on the water.

Gotta give kudos especially to our tour guide "Goose" and young Baylor grad and Captain Ed. They both kept it fun and light and were extremely personable and knowledgeable about the history and stories of the river and the Waco area.

Really, this could not have been better and the Dr. Pepper ice cream floats were a nice touch as well plus great music. A special thank you also to Waco Tours because half our family has lactose and other dietery medical restrictions and they provided dairy-free ice cream for the affected part of my family!

Just a top notch trip and we can't wait to go again and want to bring our out-of-town visitors out as well plus try some of the other outings offered by Waco Tours. Highly recommended and we'll be back. Thanks for taking good care of my family!

When you book, check to be sure there are no big events like a football game or concert at the stadium or nearby. If so, Waco Tours has great contingency plans on where to meet and...

Everyone surrounding the Waco Tours family was incredibly kind, thorough, and accommodating during our visit. I feel like they did a fantastic job displaying that "southern hospitality" that many people are so fond of in the south.

My group actually did both the classic and the river tour during our visit and I would highly recommend either/or or both! I would describe the classic tour as a little more historical and informational about the city overall, while the river tour is more scenic and peaceful, yet still informational in its own respect (specifically regarding the river area as expected).

Don and Dano, on the classic tour, did a fantastic job with all their information, storytelling, and entertainment in the "travel" portions of the tour and I felt, held the groups overall attention very well. There were also ample opportunities for breaks and places to get out and stretch.

Garrett and Sam, on the river tour, also did a fantastic job during our visit, even over some louder winds on the open water. The few parts that did overlap with the 2 tours were also in sync regarding the content, showing that all parties were well versed in their information and storytelling overall, so props on that!

Lastly, I would add that this tour felt much more personable than many that I have seen, it didn't ever feel like we were just being fed arbitrary historical bullet points and I think everyone did a great job making everyone present feel included.

I would recommend this trip to anyone, even...

My wife and I are return visitors to Waco Tours - River Cruise on the Brazos in Waco, Texas. Our first tour was actually one year ago; we enjoyed our visit so much to Waco last year, we did a return visit. The River Boat Tour / Cruise met our expectations and more. Captain Stan and First Mate Liz were incredible hosts, very personable, friendly and outgoing and passed on incredible history of Waco, Texas. This included information concerning Baylor University, major contributors to Waco’s expansion and on - going improvements, to the history that makes Waco so unique. To top it off, Captain Stan and Liz prepared a real treat for us which included ice cream, floats or just good ole Dr. Pepper.

This evening cruise is not disappointing. It will either cap off your stay in Waco and/or a good beginning. Memories are made as well as new friendships were forged.

This was year two for my wife and I on this cruise. We could think of no better way to celebrate my wife’s Birthday and a late Mothers Day gift. We will return…our desire is to eventually bring the entire family to Waco to participate in both the Van Tour and River Tour.

If you’re in Waco, don’t hesitate to tour Waco by Van and Boat. You won’t be disappointed. We traveled from Virginia to visit Waco. A city and area we have come to love.

Captain Stan and Firstmate Liz were outstanding! The cruise was magnificent!

PS: Liz is also a guide and driver on the Van / Mobile Tour/s. Impeccable knowledge of the City she...
