This farmers market is small and cute but we’ve had consistent issues with produce being rotten when we cut into it or produce rotting within a day or two of purchase.
We bought a couple peaches in July and found them all moldy at the pit. That’s no big deal. We just went back last week and bought a smattering of produce - spreading things out across the vendors.
We found the corn had worms in it when we shucked it, an onion was moldy at the center when we cut it, and then both the cantaloupe and tomatoes went bad within a couple days. Read moreH Street NE Freshfarm Market is one of the smallest farmers markets in the city, but if you find yourself already on H Street Saturday morning, it's a great place to walk through. It's on 13th Street and just off of H Street NE. It has about 20 or so stands including a vegetable stand, a bakery, iced coffee, flowers...pretty much all the basics of a farmers market.
