Bottom-line, up-front: D'Ann Faught at City Chic provided the most professional, genuine, thorough, & experienced home-buying process I have ever heard of. Background: My partner and I had finally had enough of the 800 square-feet DC rental lifestyle and knew we were ready to own our own home. I dug up D'Ann's phone number from the first call her and I had months prior when I setup an alert on her site. From that very first call, I knew that she would be the one we'd be working with when the time came. The only thing we could tell her was that we were well-qualified but unfortunately we really were clueless as to the process, the strategy, and what we were looking for. D'Ann guided us through the process, allowed us to see a range of homes so that we knew what we liked/didn't like and could afford/couldn't afford. She setup tours incredibly fast and always seemed to fit us in her busy schedule as if we were her favorite client. She is well-connected to A+ lenders, etc that operate with the same high-integrity that she does. People say buying a home is stressful - I don't disagree. However, there was not once in the process I felt lost or confused...D'Ann anticipated every curve ball that was going to come our way and even made possible a 21-Day close with a smooth settlement... In addition to getting us in our dream home, she has sent many cards, gifts, and texts over the last several months that honestly made us feel so great about working with her. I've reflected a lot on the process and I seriously struggle to think of 1 thing she could have done better. Being in sales myself, I aspire to be the caliber of sales person that she is. We can't wait to work with her again. -Tripp & Ryan

Executive Summary: I had one conversation with Lindsay Dryer, during which she was extremely rude, condescending and insulting. I left the conversation feeling deflated, discouraged and disgusted. If you are searching for a positive, friendly, encouraging agent and do not have a million dollars stashed under your mattess - Lindsay Dryer is not the agent for you.

Detailed Review: I do not come from a rich family. I moved to the US from the Caribbean 11 years ago for school. After earning an undergraduate and masters degree - both on full academic scholarship - and gaining several years of great work experience which took me to some fantastic places in Europe, Asia, and Africa, I landed my dream job here in DC a few years ago and decided to make this my home. I have saved, though hard work and sacrifice, a significant downpayment and been pre-qualifed for a decent mortgage.

Once I made the decision to start seriously looking, I contacted City Chic after reading a few glowing reviews online and was put in touch with Lindsay. Although her voice inflections may sound positive, in only a few minutes, Lindsay managed to crush my dreams of home ownsership. She reminded me that in my budget, I would be competing with investors and "wealthy young people whose parents who gave them $50,000 for a downpayment" and that finding what I'm looking for "would not be easy" and she doesn't want to make promises she can't keep. She made it very clear that she only wants to deal with "easy" clients who were born with silver spoons in their mouths and have cash to burn. I saved that much all on my own, with no help from anyone, and she flatly refused to represent me.

After reading some other reviews about Lindsay specifically, I see that she may have been burned by disappointing past clients but Lindsay - a word of advice; find another way to get out of it that doesn't involve telling potential clients that they are basically too poor to be your client. And since we are pointing things out...I'd like to point out that, in refusing to help me, you also refuse to help everyone I know. I might not be an easy client, but I am a young, upwardly mobile woman in my early 30s with many many friends who have started looking or will do so very soon. Just this week I've been asked by at least 8 people how my home search has been going and whether or not I've found a good realtor. Rest assured I have been very candid about my...

I met Liz Kaiser three years ago when I moved to Washington DC. I was in search for an apartment and was uncertain on whether to rent or purchase. With barely knowing anyone or anything about real estate in DC, I did a google search and found Liz’s contact information on City Chic Real Estate’s website. Liz assisted me in determining whether at that time it made sense for me to buy or rent. Throughout the process, she was never pushy and always there to answer my questions. Her approach with me seemed more like a professional friendship rather than a business transaction. She took the time to show me various areas in DC and different options. I ended up renting a place based on Liz’s guidance in my first year in DC. Fast-forward to earlier this spring, I was in a position to buy a place in DC. Without hesitation, I knew Liz was the only real estate agent for me. The crazy thing about that decision though was not because she helped me three years previously but in the years since moving to DC she stayed in contact with me. She would send me holiday cards, invites to social gatherings and simple notes of saying hello. She made me feel important enough to stay in contact. The communication from her was on point and never burdensome or annoying. I viewed her as a trusted business advisor when it came to real estate. In selecting her as my real estate agent for buying a home she was there to assist in answering all of my questions. Upon finding a place to purchase, she was on top of everything with detailed checklists of next steps, recommendations on inspectors, brokers/bankers, title companies amongst other helpful tips/tricks including being present at each milestone. I never felt any pressure to settle for a place and she reassured me I was in the driver seat. I strongly believed she was my advocate in dealing with the seller’s agent as well as providing me with sufficient information to make an informative decision. In addition, she saved me money in closing based on some tips. Buying a home can be a difficult process but Liz made it very seamless to me. She went above and beyond and I’m confident she would do the same for anyone else looking to buy a home. Hands down, she is the best real estate...

My fiancĂ© and I moved to the DC area last November. After about 6 months of paying way too much money for our 800 square foot apartment we decided it would be more financially responsible to buy a house. I found Melissa Terzis through a search on the internet. She responded to my email request immediately by calling me on the phone to get a general idea of what we were looking for. Immediately I could tell that I liked her and we wanted to move forward with her helping us along the way. Since we were not familiar with the area and the DC market, Melissa patiently helped us narrow down different areas based on our needs and wants. Of course my wants and needs were slightly different than my fiancĂ©s. Our house search took 6 months and we were beginning to feel deflated, exhausted, and frustrated. DC real estate we realized was tough!!!! We were competing with cash offers and people that were willing to pay way over what the property would get appraised for. I was ready to take a LONG break and just pay our “expensive rent.” Melissa never gave up and would call, email, and text us to answer questions, pep us up, or help us think outside the box. Bottom line Melissa genuinely cares and will do anything in her power to get a house that will work for you. She made sure we didn’t settle or overpay and sure enough we found the house that we love. Melissa held our hands every step of the way even after we closed. After closing we decided we wanted to renovate the kitchen in our home. We ran into a slight problem with our contractor. Melissa (without asking) helped us by contacting our inspection company. The owner of the inspection company came by and gave us the advice we needed to get our situation with the contractor resolved. We consider her not only our real estate agent, but our friend. We would highly, without a doubt recommend her to anyone in this area that is interested in buying a house. In fact we already did about a month before we closed. She is down to earth and a breath of fresh area, which is sometimes very difficult to find especially in a new area. We are actually hoping (since she is now looking) that she buys a house close to us in downtown...
