I've only been here once, just as a reference.
My husband, dog, and I were in Silverdale one day and decided to go to this dog park.
It's basically a sand pit surrounded by fencing. There is a small dog section but there was only one pup in there when we arrived.
Dust is everywhere from the dogs running around. There are lawn chairs sitting out for you to sit and watch your dog play. A hose is also available along with a bucket and kiddie pool.
There was a boy there who was chasing dogs around and swearing, of course that isn't the dog parks fault but it was still uncomfortable.
The vibe I got here was overall pretty nice, though. It seemed like a really tight community of visitors who took care of the park together.
There were poop bags available along with trash cans. Parking was free. The bathrooms appeared to be closed based on the spray paint on the door that said "Restrooms are closed".
I wouldn't go back here. We were sneezing all day from the dust...
Read moreLove to walk here! There's an enclosed dog park and a skate park too! There is a bathroom. No sink so bring your own sanitizing or cleaner for your hands. Free parking. This area is usually most busy around early mid evening. You can get some really nice pictures. The walk I take usually is 2.9 miles long. It can easily be extended out longer. Wear good shoes and of course dress for our bipolar weather. Fun facts and maps posted through the trails. Some are more far stretched so maybe take a picture if you are uneasy. There are tables on the boardwalk section- nice for relaxing or a small picnic. Don't be afraid to smile and greet people you pass. Usually there are friendly and kind passerbys. Bring water. The trail circles back into the parking lot. Bring your friend(s) or family- or even by yourself. I go there all the time and will go...
Read moreI have walked in this park for several years. I recently started to notice piles of clothing throughout the park. Tonight I was walking on the North/South asphalt section of the park when I started to hear loud music and loud yelling. I noticed a well worn path heading east that lead to a homeless group living in 4-6 tents.
We have quit going to Seattle because of the homeless crime and unattended fires throughout the city and residential area. How long would this park last if one of their campfires got out of control.
I, along with my family members, will not go to this park any longer. I have to think that your group knows about this problem. What is your plan to protect the innocent people, or do you...
