I worked here for a little over a year! Food is great!! I still love to eat here! Procedure is always followed, they are very clean, and really go above and beyond for the customers. They get really busy at times, sometimes ticket times are well past what they are suppose to be at, but everyone working is truly trying the best that they can. I loved to work here because everyone works! It’s not left up to just one guy to do it all. Unfortunately they do not offer medical insurance unless you are some kind of manager, which is a huge inconvenience because managers have to work full-time, I would have gladly been a part time kitchen manager, but I was turned down after I was trained for it only because I wasn’t willing to work 45 hours a week. I had 2 jobs and I am a manager at my other job, they never complained about me being part-time for them. At habit burger, when I worked there I was the best lead cook they had, they openly admitted that. All the managers wanted me on their shifts, and told me that often. After I quit and went back to eat there they always wanted me back. I quit mostly because I had gotten a better job, but the new job I had gotten takes awhile to start. 6 months to a year, I could have worked there much longer. My main issue was wage. After always being told how great I was, how hard working I was, how much everyone loved me, sadly you never see that in your check. You go above and beyond for them, but they do not do that for you. After awhile people feel unappreciated, it wasn’t just me, lots of the “veterans” felt this way. I was given a 50 cent raise which was great! I didn’t ask for it they just gave it to me, and to make things better they gave me a dollar! Even when they said it was just 50 cents! After a couple months they lost a crucial team member, and they were short staffed. At this time I only worked 3 nights a week, but along with my second job I was working 55 hours a week. They talked me into working 4 nights a week, and promised me another dollar raise! I was super happy, I gladly took the deal, I dropped one of the shifts at my other job so that I could work for them for that extra dollar! On the down side, they lied, I never saw that extra dollar they had promised me. After 3-4 months I realized I was never gonna get that extra dollar. On top of that, they were hiring people at the same wage as me, after a year, thinking my dollar raise was awesome people came in not knowing anything, and made as much money as I did. Lead cooks are suppose to make more money then the make-up line, or the people working the fryers, It clearly shows that on a paper hung in the office. Very friendly co-workers, all the managers are very helpful/friendly, especially if you work hard like I did. Wages are not fair, mostly because even if you are the best, they won’t pay you like you are, even when they can. Not asking for a lot, just what the lead cooks made when I was training for it. Unfortunately I never reached the amount as previous lead cooks, even when they openly admitted my better attitude, and reliability. It’s a shame cause I really did like...
Read moreI used to love Habit Burger. But recently, the location in Silverdale has gone completely into the toilet. On my last visit (last Friday), my Portabella Char burger was so salty I couldn't eat it. The people at the table next to mine sent their fries back because they were "all salt" and no other flavor. Our tempura green beans were ok, but just ok. But everything else was terrible. But even worse: listening to the staff verbally abuse customers. To me, while getting ready to order: "Sir, nobody can possibly hear you if you're only able to mumble." I was thinking to myself aloud, not ordering. When I pointed that out... no apology, just "Well, I'll be here when you're ready to actually order." Another woman with a child with obvious developmental disabilities received from a different staff member, "Are you coming to get this order or not?" A third customer, a Black man, had his order called out by the staff by a number (they usually call by name). He hadn't been given a receipt (nor had I), so he didn't know they were calling for him... he didnt know his order number, but gave his name. Eventually, he got his food, but then the staff started mocking him behind his back for being "stupid." On top of all that, the dining room was filthy... not a single clean table to be found. Trash bins were overflowing onto the floor. Staff came out to the dining room, looked around, then walked back into the kitchen and resumed cooking. No attempt at any sanitation activities. This place is dangerous. The staff are rude and have created a horrible dining experience. My wife and I will...
Read moreMy family has been a loyal customer of Habit, but no more until it gets its act together. Just got back from the Silverdale store It’s bad enough that more than a dozen customers were hanging around in a small area waiting for their orders —- most without masks —- but the WORKERS WERE WEARING MASKS AROUND THEIR NECKS, NOT ON THEIR FACES!
Before wading into the place reluctantly, I tried calling to have an already-paid-for-and-on-the-counter order run out to the car. A very safe and very easy option, but couldn’t even contact the store! The answering service “doesn’t have the number to the store!”
This is a no-brainer service that should start immediately. One kid with a cell phone in the store who can run food out is a small price to pay for the safety of customers and staff!
The risk of transmission is being indoors with a large number of others not wearing masks. Waiting for orders in a small area is foolish!
Afraid we are breaking the Habit until things change. —————-
Three weeks later:
I am very happy to say that we were able to return to Habit Burger. We ordered online, there were designated parking spots outside, a masked employees brought the food out to us.
The changes made were very impressive. We are so happy that we can enjoy their food again and not have to take unnecessary risks.
Thank you, Habit Burger management for making these changes which will benefit the community, your employees, and...
