I went for my initial appointment on 2/21/23 for an exam and to select contacts and glasses. That whole processes was seamless aside from the fact that by the time I was able to look at glasses, I had 20 mins prior to closing.
The reason for 3 stars is the following. I called on 3/1/23 to see if my glasses were in, and they said no. We had to update my number, no big deal so we did. On Saturday I happen to be driving by and decided to call, and they said they were in! So I stopped by, and sat with the employee to be fitted/adjusted. I asked when my glasses arrived and he said 3/2/23. I said no one called. He said they called twice, I asked what number it was and they said it was the old number. I said well I called and updated it on 3/1.(apparently I had 2 customer accounts) When I tried on the glasses and I felt like I was walking into the ground. They were never adjusted while I was there and I was told I'd get used to them. (I've worn glasses, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt) 3 days later and I was still experiencing the same.
I went back on Monday 3/6/23 and they asked if I wanted to order a new pair and THEN see the doctor for adjustments. I said I'd rather see the doctor now and then order the new pair. Why make double the work?!
After seeing the doctor, the Rx was off from the original done 2 weeks ago. I am so happy I had them check me first and not wait until the newer pair came in. Still waiting on contacts, but they can sometimes take longer so that is what it is.
My coworker told me she has experienced the same issue with her lenses and another customer who was sitting next to me told me the same thing.
I went here to save money, and we all know the saying, you get what you pay for!!

   Read moreMy experience with Americas best has been horrible. It is 5/6/2023 and I have been trying to be seen since 4/9/2023. I first went to the branch in Piscataway where I was told they only have a doctor once a week, on a weekday, and as a UPS driver this was not okay. I took off to make the appointment only to arrive and be told they could not see me. I was then called and told to go to the Union store because they had open availability the same day. I arrived at the Union store for Angel to tell me they have a doctor everyday, but for some reason not today. I was then scheduled a week out because my availability was Saturdays. On 5/6/2023 I called 30 minutes before my appointment for the address, and was routed to the Watchung store. Upon my arrival I realized it was the wrong store and called the Union store. Angel put me on hold to find out if I could still be seen. When he picked back up at 4:37 my appointment being at 4:20 he asked was I still at the other location. When I said yes, he said yea the doctor leaves at five but I see in the system Watchung has availability. Meanwhile the lady in front of me was already asking the doctor. When she came to say the doctor can’t see me, I said the other store said you had availability. She responds with yea I thought he would say that but that was at 4:20. This woman listened to my whole distress and not only did she act as if she heard nothing, she took a walk in that came in after me, to then tell me no. Completely disgusting! Americas Best please...
   Read moreThis was probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had! First things first, the visit with the eye doctor is over a video call which I thought was a joke. They don’t tell you about that until you are in the room by yourself with a screen. Then they told me they would order trial pairs of contacts for me to try out to see which ones fit me best. It’s been a month and I haven’t heard anything from them. Mind you they won’t release the eye prescription to you until you choose a contact brand. I just called them to see if they got the trials in and the woman on the phone told me she called me and no one answered then told me I need to book another visit to pickup the contacts. Which means more money and another video call with the eye doctor before I’ve even tried the contacts on. It’s actually a joke. I told her that I’ll just go elsewhere and I wouldn’t be going back. She proceeded to tell me her manager needs to approve that but she wasn’t in. Ha! So now I have wasted my annual exam, my time, my money and yet I’m still blind as a bat!
Side note-I do not want any apologies or anything from America’s best!...
