Back in April of 2021 I found a style of a man's sapphire ring that I liked so I bought it. I had spoken with Hailee and Kristin with regards of what I wanted and they showed this ring! Loved it! Come Fall I noticed that the ring was actually in two parts because the assembly of the ring had loosened up and made one part of the ring continously spin. I went back to Days to see what could be done. I stated that I would sign any contract to give permission to do anything to the ring to make the spinning stop. At this time I worked with Callie and Eliza. They were so helpful and accommodating to my requests. I didn't sign any contract and within a week I had a replacement ring! This is something I did not expect and was extremely humbled by this gesture. So on July 11th, I brought my ring in once again as it has separated again and had one part spinning again. This time I spoke with Liz. She listened to my story with the ring, spoke with her colleague Eliza and they both agreed to call the distributor of this particular style ring to see what they could do woth regards to the spinning and how to stop it. Both ladies apologized for what I was dealing with and were very happy to assist me. I also stated again that I had no issue signing any contract to give permission to do whatever is needed to fix my ring. On Wednesday I received a call however I was unable to answer and Liz left a message for me. I went to Day's. This time I spoke with Jillian. She stated that there is an issue with the style of the ring I had. Apparently the distributor of this ring has had other complaints about it. Jillian stated that I could do an exchange or store credit. I thought that was agreeable so I went to look at the rings. Kristin and Hailee who both had assisted me when I first looked back in the Spring for a ring were right there to help me. After a bit I chose a different style and color of sapphire. I was very happy. The new ring was a bit less than the original and I was offered the difference in cash. I said I would rather a store credit because I will be back. So let me say this....back 18 months ago when I began looking for a ring for myself I had gone to three other jewelers; Hounnoush, Jared, and Kayes. I was treated by all three with arrogance, agggresive behavior, actual verbal distaste for what I wanted for a style of ring, and assumptions were vocally made with regards to my person. So I left each place. I then saw Day's Jewelers and thought why not? I walked into the store and was greeted by those employees who were not with customers. Those two at that time were Kristin and Hailee. Both were non aggressive and very pleasant. They offered their assistance when I needed it then allowed me to peruse with feeling stalked. Even when I was looking and comparing rings I didn't feel as though any employee was hovering over me. When I was ready I looked up for assistance. Hailee was available, came over, and we chatted. I bough that ring that day without issue. Hailee brought me over to Jaime if I remember who wrapped everything up for me. The whole shopping experience with Day's Jewelers in South Portland is the reason why I am a loyal customer for life. Kindness, courtesy, care, obvious education, knowledge, intelligence can be seen and felt in this store...but the biggest is the honesty and integrity. This is why I am and will be a loyal...
Read moreUp until the purchase of an upgraded wedding ring I loved buying all my jewelry from Days. My husband and I decided to upgrade my diamond and decided to get a different band to support the larger diamond better. My original ring had a diamond and two sapphires; one to either side. To save money we decided to not keep the original diamond and instead kept the two sapphires to put into the new setting with the new diamond. I could not have been more excited to find out that my new ring was ready! When I was handed the ring no one said anything about it, just happily handed it to me. When I got out to my car I very clearly saw a large chip in one of the original sapphires; no special magnifier necessary. Just my naked eye could see the large gouge. I was heart broken and brought to tears as my husband and I brought it back inside the store immediately. The manager did not come out of his office to see us. They replaced the stone and gave us a gift card. Clearly their jeweler must have seen the giant crack and tried to pass it off to me as though it wasn't there. Maybe if they were perfectly clear and honest about it I would still be a customer, but I no longer do any...
Read moreI will not do business with Day’s again. I purchased a thin gold necklace which broke very very easily. I would recommend in the least staying away from any of their thin pieces! They asked me to pay to ship it back and said I also would have to pay for the repair. They basically accused me of being too aggressive with the necklace and insinuated it was all my fault, nothing to do with the poor quality of the necklace. Buyer beware!! They lost many customers in my opinion over a $45 repair which I am sure they could have easily written off. No thanks! Bad customer service!! So I NEVER ASKED FOR A CREDIT TOWARDS 2 WEDDING BANDS. THAT’s UNTRUE. I had simply mentioned to Logan early on that I needed to at some point purchase wedding bands. Gosh who likes a liar. Not speaking of Logan, he was actually very very nice! ALSO THE THIN BAND BROKE AFTER LESS THAN 3 WEEKS OF WEARING. I AM A BUSY MOM AND THE NECKLACE SAT IN A ZIPLOC BAG FOR SOMETIME. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR?? AFTER 3 WEEKS??...
