Joe's Smoke Shop & Happy Trails Inc. — Attraction in Waterville

I will use this review to share my experience: I went to Happy Trails looking for a vape battery for cheap. I would only be using this for about a week, so I would consider what I was looking for to be almost disposable. The cheapest battery they had did not come with a charger (I was expecting micro USB to be the method) and cost over $25 with the charger. This was a pen-like battery that I would not expect to go for more than $10, and the charger was even worse, I would not expect to pay more than $3 for it and it is useless for charging anything else. Despite this, I paid for both and when the clerk asked me if I would like a receipt, I hesitated and said 'actually yes, it is cheap so just in case it doesn't work after a day I can bring it back.' She laughed and literally said,"That's a good thought."

Lo and behold, 2 days later the unit stopped working entirely. I went back that night to get a new one and was met with significant resistance from the current (a different) clerk. The clerk said, "the best I can do is 50% off a new one." I was very frustrated at this point because the unit was already very overpriced, I only wanted it for a week and it had only been 2 days, and I kept my receipt because I had a feeling this would happen! At this time, and as professionally as I could, I gave the clerk my honest opinion. Something to the effect of; I come here instead of buying online to support local business, and I expect someone who marks things up almost 100% to stand by their product. The clerk began texting the owner(s) who gave him the approval to replace the product free of charge.

At this point, I was a (surprised, but) happy customer. In the end, the owners did stand behind their product, but I did not appreciate how much talking I had to do to get the result I knew was right for the customer in the end. I’ve been working in the vape business nationwide for eight years and never seen a more dysfunctional shop i bought three different flavors of disposable and all there were defective and after informing them was told they don’t back their product. That it was at my risk buying after contacting every distributor in state was informed they buy their product from third party distributors (meaning expired and or Unsanctioned product) Stay clear of this vape shop as their product is sub standard and can’t even be warrantéed through the company that made the product as it’s expired or unsanctioned. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional business in my career. I was met with it’s your problem was your risk not ours. I highly suggest you seek other professional shops in the area that follow law And are trained in product safety Safe shops that back their customers not their profitability. If you do buy from then check your product expiration date as all three disposables were expired 03/2021 over a year expired and therefore not eligible for warranty. I was just finishing up my run when I stumbled upon Happy Trails and was greeted to the sound of the Edward scissors soundtrack. When I later my eyes on the first merchandise presented to me I was astonished by the quality and care that goes into the products designed for this store. I was able to make purchases that will live with me forever. Angel and her son Sullivan really know how to show love for the customer and make you feel at home. They were very through with answering my questions and let me know I get a student discount of 10% off! When I looked in my wallet I realized I did not have enough cash on hand for the quality I was about to purchase. However, my knowledge was expanded as they let me know THEY ACCEPT VENMO.
