Maine Film Center — Attraction in Waterville

I was very sad to learn that a beloved, small town, comfortable little theater has moved to a site polished concrete and steel. Once inside, I was supposed to be impressed by new seating. This seating was not comfortable and far too close to the huge screen. I left with a my neck cricked. There was a blinking blue light overhead interfering with attention to the movie. The staff was very nice and informative. The concession business stand made me laugh when I asked for bottled water and the staff person offered me an 8 oz bottle of imported Italian water, meanwhile they serve beer on tap. Are they catering to the Colby crowd? I am not from around here I do not know the politics here. I do know I did come at least once a month to a nice little movie place and...

It was a wonderful time, they had a good selection of snacks, the bathrooms were very clean, and people there were very nice, I saw everything everywhere all at once and it was incredible, however due to a technical error with the projector, the movie had a shade of pink for most of it, the people working there warned us beforehand but it was a lot less noticeable than I expected, and in apology they gave us a full refund, so that more than makes up for it, they said later today they were going to fix it but the repairman hadn't come yet, despite these flaws I had a Exellent time, and I will definitely go again 5/5 would...

This is a great place: they show the most interesting films, including some that can't be found anyplace else in the area; there are write-ups available for most films, to read while you wait for the show to start; the people who work here are regulars, so that there's always a familiar face, and most of them really seem to be ardent film buffs; and there's an ever-changing display of original art on the walls.
