I purchased a 2013 F150 on 1/31/2020. The purchase process was smooth and quick. Thatās where my positive experience ends. Once home with the truck it had a slight rough idle, but I chalked it up to bad gas and not being driven for awhile. On the evening of 2/4/2020 the check engine light came on. I thought this was odd as I was told by Henderson Ford this truck was completely caught up on maintenance and any mechanical issues, which made me feel confident it was in good running order as it was being purchased as is. I called the salesman on 2/5 and he said they would look at it and waived the diagnostic fee in good faith but that would be the only fee they would wave. Diagnostic came back with a misfire on cylinder number 6, but they were unable to tell me why as the person who is paid to read the diagnostic wasnāt available. I was told to bring it back Friday morning. I dropped it off on 2/7 and received a call before lunch to let me know they needed to dig deeper into it as they thought it wasnāt a typical misfire and there would be $225 fee for this service. Turns out it needs to have the heads pulled and valves re worked, it will cost approximately $4100 to fix. This problem should have been found when they were doing maintenance and the other repairs becaue it had to be apparent this was a problem at that time. Now I have a vehicle thatās a week old with major mechanical issues. If this had been a minor mechanical issue, I would have had no problem paying to fix it, but this is a costly issue and they only want more money and no offer of a reasonable resolution. DO NOT purchase a used vehicle from Henderson Ford. You could end up in this same situation.
so update on this,
Henderson's did reach out to me and made an offer to help so I pulled down this review for a few days. So the offer on helping to fix the truck was not to bad but unfortunately too late. Since nothing was said during the time these issues were found at the dealership and price was so high I was forced to have another shop start the work. This was due to the need to get it fixed, price and the fact that I trust the mechanic I would normally use versus Henderson's for now obvious reasons. I still feel cheated deep inside despite the offer and feel Henderson's should absorb this expense no matter where the truck is being worked on since they did not leave me much choice the first time around when the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS AT HENDERSON FORD IN WAVELAND.
I went to Henderson ford after seeing a 2009 Ford Edge with low miles. I went there, test drove it, and loved it. the salesman Larry made sure of that by saying ādonāt come back from the test drive til you fall in love with the carā. The FIRST red flag was he told us a completely different price than what was on the website. THEN initially they told me they ran a 171 point inspection (which we asked to see and didnāt happen) on the vehicle and the only issue was the ABS control module and that they had ORDERED the part and were waiting for it to come in. Larry told me at the beginning a part they needed to put in. He told me once they fix the car, it would be ready for me to take home. COOL. So I went to the bank and got the loan, well we came back with the check in hand, but we made an agreement with Larry about not giving them the check and them still have the car. but we put 1,000$ down to hold it. Fast forward to the next day, my uncle goes up there (he is a mechanic and a very good one). They then tell my grandfather and uncle that they cannot sell the car AT ALL. TO ANYONE. because the ABS control module was on back order. BUT they were told we would be contacted once the car was in sellable condition. I MADE IT CLEAR I WAS COMMITTED TO THIS CAR.
WELLLL today I get a call from my uncle, he called the dealership to get an update on the car AND THE CAR WAS SOLD.
HE SOLD A CAR I WAS TOLD WAS GOING TO BE MINE, OUT FROM UNDER ME. THIS BUSINESS IA DIRTY AND I WILL NEVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE.
these people not only sold a car I so desperately needed and wanted, but DIDNT have the audacity to let me know so that I could shop for a new car.
The owner did contact my uncle and spoke and took care of the issue, he was very nice. But as far as his employees, itās a no go for me.
edit since I cannot reply back*
I appreciate the reply and reaching out to my uncle. But my uncle has a wholesale license and thatās why he offered to buy the car, he wouldnāt have offered if he didnāt have the proper credentials. Itās honestly tragic that youāre in the business of selling cars, and as a dealer your response is āit just wasnāt meant to beā. Hereās a little helpful tip- next time, make sure the car is in SELLABLE condition before you put...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn July 2012, I saw a 2010 Nissan Titan on autotrader located at Charlie Hendorson Ford for a good price (25K about 2K less than what I was seeing them for in FL). I called and spoke with Anthony who was one of the salesman. Due to bad past experiences buying vehicles out my local area, I grilled him pretty hard about the truck. He told me the truck was flawless. It had no scratches, paintwork, bodywork or anything. From the pictures, the truck did look flawless. He guarenteed the truck had no body work done. So my wife and I took a 8 hour drive from central Fl to MS to buy the truck. When we arrived the truck was cleaned up. As soon I as I walked up to the truck I noticed they repainted the front bumper (had the orange peel). I asked him about it and he said they usually do it due to the love bugs which is understandable but he didn't mention that. Then as I walk around the truck I notice scratches they tried to cover up with touch up paint and did a horrible job. We took the truck for a test drive and the truck drove great. I parked outside in the sun to try and get a better look. I did feel kind of rushed as we were looking at the truck. At the time I didn't notice anything and yes he showed us the carfax which was clean. So we bought the truck and went on our way. When we got back a few days later, I decide to clean it up. As I start washing it I notice dirt in the paint and fish eyes on the passenger side. When the truck sat in certain sunlight you can tell from the passenger door to the rear was repainted and had body work done. I called Anthony to inquire about it and of course he tells me he wasn't aware of it. I call BS on that. For a reputable dealership, I'm sure they can see where body work was done. He tells me he was going to check into it. But of course I never got a call back. They got their money and that's all that matters!
I was so mad and frustrated because once again I was screwed over and paid a lot of money for a vehicle which had bad body work done. Yes I know it's part my fault, but I guess that's what I get for taking a salesman word AGAIN! Im sure I could have taken the truck back if I lived there but I was so mad that I didn't want to take a 16 hour drive and possible go to jail for smashing someone's face in!
Be careful what you buy from them!...
