Club Fitness - Wentzville — Attraction in Wentzville

I want to start off by saying I have never in my life left a bad review. If you would've asked me to rate this gym when I first started working out, I would've given it a 5 star however, I ran into some health issues and needed to cancel my member ship as I couldn't work out for a while. I personally went into the gym to cancel and the guy I spoke with told me everything was taken care of. Today... 2 and 1/2 years later I go to check my credit reports, and I see a collection item (minder I pay everything on time as I am only 20 and want to keep my record good). I called the number on my record and Club Fitness sent me to collections with $267 that I was never ever told to pay and now it has been sitting on there for who knows how long! After I got this paid today, I then called club fitness, and she stated my account was still open!! I even returned my key fobs, never received mail or a phone call after being told in 2022 that my account was closed. I told her the back story about what had happened, and she had 0 remorse and took 0 accountability. As I know it wasn't her fault it was very angering. Like I said I paid it because I am not one to argue but it is just crazy to me that they went to those extents with no warning to me and now it has affected my credit which I have worked so hard for. For the future DON'T tell people their accounts are cancelled, and they are all good if that isn't true. Oh, and get this, they had the audacity while I was on the phone with them to ask if I would like to start a new membership with them. NEVER AGAIN!!! Again, I would never typically take the time out of my day to write a negative review, but people need to be aware of this as I was warned before I got a membership there but didn't listen thinking it wouldn't...

I would highly recommend that they take the 24 hours off of their front door because the doors lock after the staff leaves. Normally you use your key card that you get With the membership you paid for to get in, however for almost 2 weeks now these cards do not open the doors. The only way to get in is to wave someone down who is already inside to open the door. It’s a waste of time and money to pay for something that does not exist. About a week ago I asked the manager about it and she said that they had fixed it. I went back that night and it was still not working. I go through the same process of waving someone down and waiting for 10+ minutes. I went in this morning when they had employees there and was told that most likely people say that the doors been fixed but it hasn’t. I asked for a new key card and they said I would have to pay for it But it probably wouldn’t fix the problem anyways. So the employees either one have no idea what’s going on or two don’t bother to report the issue to someone higher to have it fixed. I know this is not just me as I had to let in six other people while I was working out, and when I informed employees about it they were not surprised and said that it was a common issue. I’m not sure why I pay for 24 hour access when the entrance is locked to everyone. I usually don’t have too many issues with this place besides stuff that can’t be helped, such as other gym members not putting back equipment, running out of wipes, etc. The workers are like golden retrievers, not really sure what’s going on but just happy to be there. They are super friendly but...

I have changed my previous 4 star review to a 1 star review. This company keeps getting worse and worse. I have gone to this gym for 6 years and whoever the upper management is, general manager is , is awful. I asked if i could just get a cup of water and they said they would have to charge me 50 cents for a cup of water! I asked why cause again i have been going here for 6 years and every now and then I forget my shaker cup and it has never been an issue and they said the general maneger watches them on camera and will call them if they do that..... this company has one of the highest turnover rates I’ve ever seen because whoever runs this company clearly treats their employees and members horribley. I dont know who is in charge of cleaning time at this gym but they honestly choose to do it at the busiest time which just makes the cluttered gym more cluttered . None of this is poor employees strictly poor management . The only reason i still go to this gym is because it is the only weight lifting gym in wentzville really. I hope one day a golds or a better run gym gets built...
