Nice store manager and it ends there. Pharmacy does not know what they are doing. Pharmacy manager advised you are able to get 3 month refills as long as your prescription is written for at least that many refills. Thats all fine until you try to do it and the manager is not there. But on a good note the pharmacy manager wanted to know who was giving me a hard time. When speaking to Liz (girl that had shoulder length brown hair now has short hair) she absolutely refused to fill 3 months at a time and also told me I was not eligible for a refill for 3 days so I couldn't get it anyway. She also told me she had no control over that (not refilling it for another 3 days) talk to the insurance company.
That would not make any sense, I would have to come in to Walgreens before my breakfast and get my medicine for that day, I would be totally out. So leaving the store I called my insurance company, they told me Walgreens hadn't even attempted to fill the medicine and yes it was approved. Then I asked the insurance company if I can get the medicine for 3 months at a time..again the insurance company said yes and my policy said I could pick them up at a store and did not have to mail it in. Again just like the pharmacy manager told me. But the insurance company also gave me a help number for the pharmacy and they could call them and they would explain how it worked to the pharmacist. The pharmacist refused to take it.
I called the Walgreens back and talked to the same wonderful employee explaining this to her. She said that my prescription was pending being filled awaiting doctors approval. Which when I left I had told her not to bother earlier. I would speak to her manager the following day. Problem no 1 She does not know what she is doing. Problem no 2 She sent it off to my doctor when I knew it did not have to be sent and told her not to. Problem no 3 When I called her back and told her everything the insurance company. I also told her what her manager said about people giving me a hard time, and I had already complained and her manager said ohh. SHE TOLD ME I WAS LYING. Really Wentzville Walgreens you need to weed out your pharmacy and get new people. Some that have been trained correctly and know how to work with people. People that are polite and know there job. Not just a manager who knows her job she can't be there 24/7...oh wait.. the guy that works at night has filled...
Read moreMy husband received stitches at the urgent care at 2:30 pm. Before we left the urgent care at 3 pm the nurse told us they had already sent the prescription for his antibiotic over to Walgreen electronically. She said it should be ready for us when we got there, it's a 5 minute drive. We took a small detour to get something and then my husband went in to get the prescription after about 15 minutes he came out and said that they claimed to have never received it, so he had called the urgent care and had them resend it. I took him home (a 25 minute drive) and then came back as I had some errands to do. When I stopped there around 5:30 I waited in a somewhat lengthy line and then asked for mine. She said she'd never heard of my husband. Um what? So after some searching she found him in her system, but the prescription wasn't yet filled, come back in 15-20 minutes. I'm a fairly patient person, and figured the groceries could wait a bit. So I killed time walking around the store, sitting surfing through my phone. I have them five minutes longer and then approached the counter at 6 pm to be waited on by a different woman than before. I asked again for my husband's prescription and much to my frustration I was told they didn't have it. I said that I was told they had and it would be filled in 20 minutes. The girl went back to the pharmacist, and asked. She told me that it had "just popped up" and it would be another 20 minutes. Are you kidding me?? I asked if it could be sent to another Walgreens or somewhere else where it could be filled in a more timely manner. She said, "I can't send it anywhere you need to call your doctor and fix that." I said, "I'll be back in 20 minutes, thank you." So here I am at 6:30 pm: sitting in the parking lot, writing a review and praying MY FOURTH ATTEMPT to pick up an antibiotic will be successful. Please consider CVS or somewhere else, for your pharmacy needs. If I could give 0...
Read moreI don’t understand what has happened to Walgreens, but I dread having to get a prescription filled now days because I know it’s going to be a horrible experience. It used to be that my doctor would submit an e-prescription or I would request a refill via the app and I could pick it up a few hours later. WHY IS IT NO LONGER THIS SIMPLE??? Now every time a prescription is requested, I have to hunt it down and figure out why it’s not being filled. This entails calling or physically going to the store to ask, an employee giving me a lame excuse, and then having to return a second time to actually get the medication. And there’s a long line every time I go because there’s never enough staff, even with the new drastically reduced hours. It’s the most absurd system I’ve ever seen and it’s happening AGAIN right now. My doctor submitted an Rx yesterday, which was a Tuesday. The app said it would be ready by Wednesday. Today is Wednesday and I check the app to make sure it’s ready. Of course it’s NOT ready, that would have been too simple. Now the app says my prescription was received and I can request it to be filled, but the earliest I can request a pick-up is Friday. WHY WASN’T IT FILLED WHEN MY DOCTOR SUBMITTED IT ON TUESDAY? So now I have to drive to Walgreens to figure out what the issue is and go without my medication for 3 days (and no, it’s not a controlled substance). I’m done with this mess and am having everything permanently transferred to CVS. I’ve been a nurse for 30 years and have never seen such a poorly designed system. Your new call center and off-site services are a disaster. I work for a large, world renowned academic medical system, and I find myself instructing my patients to go anywhere…except Walgreens. I’ve seen multiple patient safety issues lately and you’ve lost my trust. Walgreens is on a downward spiral and it isn’t going...
