Listen, when I first came here, I was a little scared of the painted fake windows with a tropical view on the wall, and the insane fluorescent lighting to remind you of taking your SATs, but I assure you it is all of those qualities that make Takie Outit now my favorite Chinese spot. Dining in is a glorious experience. Everyone is super accommodating and really appropriate with their service. This is an introvert’s ideal restaurant tbh. You can order at a kiosk (optional), sit down at a table, they give you your food, and then check in once you’re done with your meal so you don’t have to awkwardly smile and nod with your mouth full of food in front of a waiter who is obviously kissing for tips. Fantastic i love it. The painted windows? Honestly now I look at it and feel like I’m in Bali or Jamaica eating Chinese food by the water. The fluorescent lighting? Come on, what Asian restaurant actually serves good food when they have mood lighting? Name one, i bet you cant. I have learned after all these years that if my Chinese spot has cool-toned lighting through one big light in the ceiling, the food is going to HIT. Anyways, I recommend the Cantonese Style Chow Mein, Chicken or pork fried rice, and Pepper Steak. The crab rangoons and egg roll? also amazing. Smoothies are pretty solid too. Wash it all down with a banana smoothie, and see life all bright eyed like a child again. I love you...
Read moreThe quest for the best Chinese food continues! Either this place has just gotten to the hip new online world or I somehow missed it during all my late night delivery sessions. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special, lobster kow, lobster fried rice, and some crab rangoon.
Delivery was fast, came pretty much 20 minutes after I ordered. Everything was piping hot fresh too which was nice. I tore into the orange chicken first which is my go to meal. The meat was breaded nicely and it had good sauce. The fried was pretty decent too.
I noticed a pattern in everything though. As my sweet grandma once put it, "Where's the beef?" In the orange chicken lunch special there was a ton of rice, 6 pieces of chicken bites. Even in the fried rice itself I counted a whopping 7 shrimp. In my lobster fried rice I had...4 bite sized pieces of lobster in the whole CARTON!!! Same with the lobster kow which was pretty much 3 small pieces of shredded lobster with a pound of vegetables in sauce. I understand they didn't want to overdo it since everything is pretty cheap and this is lobster, but COME ON!
Egg drop soup was pretty meh as well. Unless you like places that skimp out on things so much it's not even close to what you ordered give this...
Read moreWould give them 0 stars if possible. I order 2 dishes from this restaurant through GrubHub. I specifically wrote no vegetables for each order. When the order came it was like they read as I wanted a SURPLUS of vegetables. So many vegetables and barely any meat. I contacted GrubHub about the issue and they contacted the restaurant in order to double check the order. The restaurant said that no vegetables were added and would not give a refund. Very ignorant and incompetent individuals at this restaurant. The few pieces of meat that were able to be eaten before throwing away practically the entire order was very sub-par. Chicken tasted like rubber and the sauces had no taste, very watery. I never post about restaurants ever, might be my first time but would defiantly not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for at least decent...
