I cannot express enough how amazing this salon is. I have known Franky for 10 years. I have watched this amazingly talented, fierce, kind and unreal badass manifest her dreams, quite literally, into a hair mecca. In her space you are heard, you are safe, and you're going to leave happy and satisfied, no matter what you came to do.

I have cried in her chair when my mom was dying, I have cried when I was getting divorced and we have laughed so hard I cried about all the crazy things that have gone down in our silly lives. And in all those moments I just needed someone outside of my daily orbit to make me feel better and make me feel like everything was going to be ok. And she always does that. I walk out better than I came in, every time.

I have switched chairs to Krista due to schedules and now I'm in love with her so here I am in a love triangle. They both have helped me while I deal with thinning and fragile hair that makes me so self conscious it keeps me up at night. But these two women take care of me, they make me happy and I think they are both so unbelievably talented. Those 60 minutes are the best part of my day hands down.

So, go here. Spend your money with a salon that does really good things and is actively trying to make this city and community better in their own unique way. The outside world is a shit show. Walk into WFLYH and get away from it all to feel really good inside and walk out...

Franky is an amazing person and hair professional. She takes the time to listen to your needs and concerns and she goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable, beautiful, happy and educated. I have been getting my hair bleached for 18 years and I can say with confidence that she is the best bleach/tone artist I have been to. She cares about your hair’s health and helps you get platinum without sacrificing your hair quality. No breakage, no burns, no lifting scalp for two weeks after your appt, no sticking you under a dryer to make your bleach develop faster. When you see her body of work you will see a lot of bleach/tones and the reason we all go to her is because she knows her stuff. She owns her own business so you will never be handed off to a random assistant. You also won’t have 5 services squeezed in during your time. She is extremely knowledgable and has a lot of experience. In addition to amazing hair skills she has amazing people skills! Getting your hair done with Franky is like going to therapy. She is inclusive and her salon is a safe space for everyone. She donates a portion of all of her services to a charity each year. 2021s charity is Debra’s Place, which helps unhoused women in Chicago. seriously, this place is so worth it. This was my first experience with a high end place and lemme tell you, they deserve every penny they charge. Very chill atmosphere, staff is absolutely loaded with skills, and I left here feeling like a million bucks. I was with Franky, and I could NOT stop smiling when she was done. I got foils and a cut, and she took her time afterwards, teaching me how to achieve the style I wanted in an intentional and very easy to follow way. This is not a cookie cutter "high end" factory where you're in and out in 30 minutes and they're on to the next client. I felt like a friend.

My only (very small, very insignificant) gripe was that their front door is kept locked, so if you're a few minutes early you need to call them to let them know you're there or you'll be standing out in the cold and wind until...
