I started taking classes at Hooley School of Irish Dance June of 2018. Right from the start I felt comfortable even though I was clumsy and couldn’t remember the steps. I also struggled with rhythm. Some times I just didn’t think I’d ever catch on. I’d never had dance lessons before in my life and in August of 2018 I turned 60 years old. It was quite a challenge. The other dancers in my class always encouraged me despite my lack of skill and the instructor was always patient with this older lady. Now, I just turned 61 and have advanced to hard shoe! Read moreI started Irish dance with Hooley as an adult dancer and have been so impressed with the owner Crystal and all she pours into this school to make it a great place to dance. Just from observation, I love the way the school encourages goal setting and character development in the kids. For me, it's a fun way to learn a new style of dance and get some exercise with other adults. I had taken several years off and returned to find my new classmates being SO encouraging. The teachers have taught Shannon some excellent skills beyond dance steps. Shannon has learned perseverance, grace under pressure, & how to display good sportsmanship in competition. All the teachers are loving and patient. I have 3 girls, we have danced with 3 other schools before we came to Hooley.
