This is my favorite library in the Salt Lake Valley. The building is beautiful and very open which provides a lot of natural lighting. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The selection of books is beyond what I expected a library to have. I can almost always find the book I'm looking for at this location instead of waiting a few days for it to be transferred from a different location. There are activities for kids and adults almost every day. Whenever I see a group of kids doing one of the scheduled library activities they always look like they're having the time of their life. That's such a good experience for kids to have at a library so that they will want to keep coming back to the library even when they're older. At other libraries in the valley there tends to be a problem with kids and adolescents maintaining a peaceful and quiet attitude in the library so as not to disturb anybody. But not at this library! They host quite a few events throughout the year, targeting different audiences, like their Friday concerts at the Viridian Event Center, Dungeons & Dragons Liberterra community games, Teen Anime shows through the month of September and Teen Anime Convention September 15-16, 2023, and sessions teaching tweens and teens how to code. I personally like to come here for inspiration.
There is also a large public space next to the library, which has a modern and well maintained playground for kids and a large park with plenty of on-site parking.
Just wished I had checked the hours on the library’s website, instead of trusting...
Read moreWe love going to the West Jordan Library. Not only does it save on the cost of buying books and movies, there are fun things for the kids and family events that are always going on. We went to a book club for kids, where they were reading, "The Magic Tree House - Mummies at Midnight". After Megan reviewed the book with the kids, she had activities that went along with the book. We did activities, such as wrapping each other in toilet paper, simulating being a mummy. The activities were fun for all of us. It's nice to see that the Library is becoming more kid friendly and helping the next generation have an appreciation...
