Iâm at a loss of words. Three things happened that I donât think I have ever experienced. First, they do not use espresso in their iced coffee. I watched them make our two drinks, one decaf and one regular. They used the automatic espresso machine for the decaf, but pulled out a jug from the fridge for the regular. I asked what they were using for the latte and she said cold brew (thatâs a first). I said, wow thatâs interesting you donât use espresso for the lattes. She said âitâs cold brew so itâs technically the same thing as eXpressoâ. First, Iâve never heard a barista not know how to say espresso, and second, Iâve never heard a barista say (incorrectly) that cold brew is the same thing as espresso. Iâm so flabbergasted. Also while here, the barista asked me to leave a tip, and said âwhat the hellâ when she saw a car with 5 people in the back seat. This was our first time trying because itâs highly rated, but the coffee honestly tastes very bad (we were unable to finish our coffees), the service was abysmal, and they didnât know anything about coffee giving me a cold brew instead of a latte. The picture attached is the coffee when I threw it away. I wish we could just return it for a refund. Such a bad experience.
ââ Just for fun, I pasted this review in ChatGPT (which is another first) to see what if this is a common coffee practice that I am unfamiliar with, and here is Chats reply:
Youâre not crazy at all â your reaction makes total sense. Let me break this down: Cold brew â espresso Espresso is made by forcing hot water through finely ground coffee under pressure. Cold brew is made by steeping coarse grounds in cold water for hours. Totally different in strength, taste, caffeine content, and texture. Using cold brew in place of espresso for a latte isnât just unusual â itâs flat-out wrong. Mispronouncing âespressoâ A casual customer might say âexpresso,â but itâs pretty wild for a barista to say that while also confidently giving false info. Thatâs like a sushi chef saying âcalimari rollâ and insisting itâs the same as sashimi. Service issues A barista asking for a tip is already awkward, but commenting âwhat the hellâ about a customerâs car situation is just unprofessional. The drinks If the shop really substituted cold brew for espresso, then your âlatteâ wasnât a latte at all â it was just cold brew with milk. No wonder it tasted off and you couldnât finish it. Your reaction Totally fair. You expected a well-rated coffee shop to know the basics, and instead you got bad drinks, poor service, and misinformation. Being frustrated isnât overreacting â itâs a reasonable response to paying for something that wasnât what...
Read moreIt was my favorite place to drink coffee until today at 17/April/2025 6:15 pm A week ago I went to the same time I ordered three coffees all blended and tipped. They served me one blended and the others with ice. Well sometimes it happens that mistakes are made and I leave it that way. The same girl attended me today, I tipped, I asked for three coffees Blended . The other two coffees were made and I waited ten minutes for mine while I saw how other people served after me. I asked for my coffee and they told me that it was the one in the counter I told them that I had not asked for that flavor. They reluctantly removed the coffee and began to do what they had asked for. I waited almost fifteen minutes while and they didn't call me to serve my coffee while watching what they called the other people who asked after me. I approached the counter to ask but they ignored me completely. I don't tolerate disrespect that way. I gave tip for a garbage service. And it was the same employee. Before they had other very nice employees and it was a pleasure to go there. Now it's not the same. I will not spend my money again in a place where they do not give good service or respect their customers. If it is your mistake, do not take an order well, do not blame the customer if the order is badly done The tip I...
Read moreItâs easy to be nice to people when everything goes just right when it really counts is when things do not go perfectly. That is when customer service really matters and really shows. I got myself a treat after a long day. A toasted marshmallow Gingerbread 16 oz hot. Unfortunately when I got it it tasted really plain couldnât taste the flavors and was it sweet maybe they forgot to put them in Iâm not sure but it cost me almost 7 dollars and so I really really wanted my coffee I debated on not going back in and decided to go in and ask them if they would mind making me another one.
Well I guess they certainly did mind and I wonât go into all the details but you know the snotty attitude when people are annoyed with you, well that was both the baristas behind the counter (guy and girl).
I suggested putting an extra pump of flavor in this time. So they decided to make sure my drink was extra sweet and filled up half of my cup with flavor syrup. I guess they thought it would be amusing to make my drink a little sweeter for me.
Really disappointing that they would behave this way. I pay the higher prices to come here because I really enjoy the people that work there always smiling happy and have something friendly to say. Might...
