Terrible service! Not much of a Yelp Reviewer but the owners wife was extremely rude. Patricia is the wife of the owner and was the one who rung me out. I asked her what her husbands name was and she refused to give it to me. First and last time going there.
The cook called my name to get my order and I took the plate that was on the counter. There was not many customers in the restaurant. So understandably I figured it was my order. I ordered 4 tacos, 2 buche/asada/pastor. When I got to my office I saw it was 3 tacos of Asada. I called the restaurant and asked for them to give me my correct order the next day or refund the money. Patricia was super rude and unapologetic and asked me to drive back and pick up my correct order. I requested the order TO GO in the first place because I had somewhere I needed to be. She started going off about the money that THEY'RE losing ($11) because now she needs to throw my correct order away not even considering the time I'm wasting to even have to drive back there tomorrow. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and said another customer was inconvenienced because of me, I asked her for my entire money back. She told me to come back to the restaurant the next day and then hung up on me!
So I called back asking for her husbands name which she refused. She told me to stop by the restaurant the next day and we would come to a conclusion. I told her the only thing I want is my full money back. Hopefully she's not lying and follows through with the refund. Such a shame a single employee can ruin the whole image of the restaurant and it's sad that it's the owners wife. Wouldn't be as upset as I am if Patricia was even remotely understanding.
10/29- came back to edit my review. Stopped by the restaurant because Patricia said she'd be there because she's always there so she claims and guess what. They decided to conveniently close for the day. Guess I'll go...
Read moreAs a Hispanic with Familia in Mexico who have taken me to some of the best Tacos Pastor over there, this is the closest I've been able to find, and that's what I tell everyone. EASY 5/5.
Tacos Lopez, and it's not even close, has the best Pastor in Utah. The tortillas are all scratch made, the Pastor is fresh cut off the Trompo (the rotating spit), the drinks are fresh and top-notch (I always get an Horchata), and the salsas are amazing. The flavor of the Pastor is incredible. Marinated, slow raosted, and authentic. This local place is easily in my top 5 of everything in Salt Lake. The number 1 best thing of everything to order, is the Quesadilla de Pastor. It is seriouslly LOADED with meat, super fresh cheese grilled right with the fresh tortilla, and it is $5. People, Taco Bell has Quesadillas more expensive than this. It's unfair how good these are.
Local Hispanics are always here, it's always busy, and I shouldn't tell them this, but I would easily pay double for what you're getting. I'd wait in any line for this. Be ready for an authentic experience, not a lot of English is spoken, and feel free to order online too. You will not regret going here.
Update: It's getting busier everyday. Be ready for a little wait in line, it's a little hectic in there, but super happy for them. Still worth the wait!
Gracias por todo lo que hacen alli. Bien...
Read moreCross-contamination extravaganza!! No interest in food safety by the manager. Toilet lid splatter with dry feces, there was no toilet paper or hand washing soap. No hand washing by employees observed over the span of more than one hour. No glove change between high risk tasks by kitchen staff. To top it off, the South American female cashier was arrogant, dismissive, and appeared to be bothered to take food orders from people she feels are beneath her. -The experience was a huge disappointment to me and to my friends I brought along that late evening! If you go there, I suggest not using the restroom or paying too much attention to how employees are handling your food in the kitchen!! One last thing, if they get your order wrong, don’t expect they will make it right; the manager will simply blame you and say that you are the one who ordered wrong. And I suggest you bring your own drink, (flat soft drinks are olmos $5 for small cup -no refills). In fairness I have to admit that the observations described in this review are based on my experience during a single visit, but the experience was so impactful that I had to voice my review. If I ever go back and have an improved experience, I will update this review -as it would only...
