I recently visited Chopfuku and had a great overall experience. I ordered the Sashimi Tasting, Bento with Rib, Dragon Fry Roll, and the Best of the Best Roll.

The Sashimi Tasting was absolutely the highlight of the meal. The quality of the fish was top-notch—fresh, buttery, and beautifully presented. It really impressed me and is definitely something I’d come back for. The rib in the bento was also excellent—very tender and flavorful.

As for the rolls, I had high hopes for the Dragon Fry Roll and Best of the Best Roll, but personally, I found them a bit bland compared to the rest of the dishes. They weren’t bad by any means, just not as bold in flavor as I expected. That said, presentation of the Best of the Best roll was excellent. It came with wood smoke!

One of the surprising parts of the experience was the interior design. From the outside, the place looks pretty unassuming, but the moment you step inside, it feels like a completely different world. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and slightly upscale without being intimidating. It’s a great place for both casual dinners and special nights out.

Second visit was even better. No notes.

Had bento Teriyaki chicken breast is spot on. Beef satai was out of this world. The madai and kinmidai are now one of my favorites, maybe more than maguro...maybe.

This is top tier sushi in Utah. The quality of the sashimi is the best I have had in years. All 3 sashimi chefs choice of maguro, escolar, and salmon were delicious and clean tasting. I wasn't used to having basil with salmon, it works and it works very well. The maguro is the best quality I've ever seen or had in Utah. Period. Escolar was firm and not overly fatty like other places where it tends to be floppy and sad.

The roll I had was a simple Philly with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Yum 😋

Presentation is something I don't usually bring up suffice to say they do it better than any sushi establishment I've eaten at in Salt Lake County.

The establishments decor is warm and welcoming with a friendly staff and surprisingly fast turnaround time from order to service.

I'm very excited to come back and try more rolls and specials like the Toro and Uni.

I also rarely give 5 stars so I really hope this place can keep it up, because you're now my new favorite sushi...

I would say a 3.75 and I believe you should try this place. We could of ordered the wrong things.

The atmosphere is really cool there is a lot of wood and it has a modern and classy rich people feel.

The service was fine we did get asked 6 times if we were doing okay you decide how you feel about that.

As for the food we had the blue fin roll and the UK because they seemed unique. We also had the salmon belly and a shashimi combo.

Food The fish on the rolls were paper thin... like in an impressive way. I don't know how you can cut fish that thin without it ripping. The rolls also had way too much rice probably around 80% rice 3% fish on top and then the rest was the filler fish or crab/tempura.

The sashimi was good portions and tasted good so I would suggest ordering something like that.

The salmon belly appetizer did not taste like salmon belly it tasted more like normal salmon it wasn't that melting in your mouth like salmon belly should be.

The salad and its dressing were good.

Price As for price 2 rolls 1 appetizer and 1 sashimi combo was 95$ if they did half the rice or thicker fish on top I would say it...

Chopfuku is an excellent new Japanese-style restaurant that opened up off of Redwood Road. Great location (it used to be an old Wells Fargo) although the parking lot, which is quite small, will fill up fast when it gets busy. The interior of the restaurant is very sleek, modern, walls are clad in cedar paneling, with a nice touch of Japanese decor. The staff are constantly keeping things clean and tidy, breaking down tables fast. The service was excellent - the staff, three different folks, checked up on us to see if everything is okay. Very attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered a couple Bento boxes and a Mount Fuji sushi roll. The bento comes with rice, salad, steamed veggies and miso soup, which is generously portioned. For the price, its worth it. The sushi roll was great and good presentation. Overall great experience. The only thing I would ask them to do differently is to put the dressing and sauce on the side for the bento. Other than that, great place!

Chopfuku Sushi & Asian Fusion – Quietly Outstanding This place is a total hidden gem. I came in solo on a Sunday night and was immediately impressed by how clean, calm, and polished the space felt. It’s brand new, and it shows in all the best ways — sharp service, modern atmosphere, and attention to detail. I ordered two rolls — the Rock’n’Roll and the Cocorida — and the Cocorida roll was probably the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. The flavor, the balance, the texture — everything was spot on. I also had the miso rib ramen, which was just pure comfort. The ribs were so tender they literally fell off the bone with chopsticks. It was warm, rich, and deeply satisfying — like high-class comfort food. And just when I thought the meal couldn’t get better, they brought out a complimentary mango gelato. Totally unexpected, and a classy final touch. This isn’t your average sushi spot — it’s thoughtful, elevated, and quietly exceptional. I’ll absolutely be back.
