The service here is a joke. Called to try and reserve a lane and they can’t do it over the phone. Fine. We get there, we try and reserve one after getting a table and waiting a long time for our waitress. Nope. Went completely over their heads as if we hadn’t asked two different staff members about it. When food was ordered and an allergy was brought to their attention, the chef completely disregarded it and it was still brought to us. Despite clearly making them aware of just how risky it is. The other food items ordered were uncooked cheese Mac balls and greasy wings still bloody. I had to spit some out into a napkin as a piece of hair was imbedded in the food. The service was all over the place and while the waitress was sweet, it left much to be desired. Other workers were just plain rude, would shoulder check you walking by, or shit talked about customers right within hearing range. Not to mention the ones seen smoking outside. The amount of times I was carded was ridiculous. Because of their shift change, which it’s been about thirty to forty minutes between each reiteration of this excuse. Three different staff members needed to ID me despite literally watching me exit from the area and sat at the table near the exit and security. I get it if I hadn’t been there long but I had been there for 2 and a half hours with a birthday party. I mean the last staff member to card me literally watched me talking with my group and walk out to go get my bowling gear. Communication is clearly lacking between staff as the waitress had earlier mentioned that none of their service staff know what tables belong to who and they had to figure that out first. Also this parking lot is super dangerous. Cars will go through it going 30-35 mph. I keep my bowling gear in my car (as I’ve had a previous experience of my gear being messed with while inside) as I was going out to get it I was almost struck by two vehicles coming out and going in. Due to there not being a proper crosswalk painted, most drivers will take the liberty of speeding through. For being such a “busy” place, one would think they’d do more for their customers. Clearly this place is just being run rampant by the current management. I will not be going to this location any more. Every other one I’ve been to has been 10x better than this location. It’s actually baffling.
Judging from the reviews this is on par for this location. Don’t even think about trying to make a complaint, none of the staff know what that means and its a “shift change though”. It also seems from the reviews that management has been made aware and are trying to milk as much money from this place as they possibly can before it tanks. Pretty sure shift change is what their trained to use as an excuse for bad service. How has shift change taken two and half hours from when I got there to when I left. Make it make sense. If I’m taking the time to rate your service, then it’s bad. Like this is making my...

I recently visited Pins and Ales in West Jordan with a reservation for 3 lanes on Wednesday, December 11th. The experience started off on a rough note when the bouncer checked our IDs and one of my friends had forgotten hers. While I understand the need to follow rules, the bouncer was short and rude. While we were talking to our friends in the other 2 lanes, the bouncer came back, stating that his supervisor would not allow my friend to even stand in the 21+ area, which felt unnecessarily harsh. We were just trying to figure out the situation, and instead of offering a more understanding approach, he had her wait outside. I understand he was just doing his job, but the overall service and tone left much to be desired, especially when the supervisor was 10 feet away and couldn’t address the situation. With years of management background, I was less than impressed by the supervisor’s approach.
On top of that, while my group of 4 was asked for IDs, the rest of our friends in the other lanes were not, which felt inconsistent with their policy. This lack of consistency raised some questions about their practices.
Once we got transferred to the All-Star side, the staff there was friendly and accommodating, which was a relief. Unfortunately, we continued to face problems with the lane. Balls kept getting stuck, and the lanes kept turning off, which ate into our reservation time. We were also told we could have up to 10 people in our reservation, but upon arrival, we could only have 6. This led to some awkward rotations among our group of 8, which was frustrating, especially considering the false advertising.
The server was very friendly and did the best he could under the circumstances. He was juggling several tables and seemed overwhelmed, but we appreciated his effort. However, it took over 15 minutes for two people in our group to receive their beers because the bar didn’t pour them on time. This wasn’t the server’s fault, but it added to the overall disappointing experience.
The concept of Pins and Ales is great and the idea behind it is A+, but the execution was far from ideal, giving it a C-. Unfortunately, with so many issues throughout the evening, we won't...
Read moreMy husband and I were in town for a concert later in the day, and wanted to explore the city a little. We both were excited to bet on lunch for whoever could win bowling haha.
We walked in from the main entrance, were greeted and asked if we wanted 21 or over or family. We live in Las Vegas so for us that was new. However, I appreciated that because, then we could be in an environment with similar interests.
We were able to get a drink quickly, and our waitress stopped by a few times. They had the Sunday football game on in the bar section, and that was nice to see; as we hadn’t seen many local bar vibes on our drive.
We also really enjoyed the fact that it was bowl by the hour. Because it was bowl by the hour they had mini game versions of bowling. We played the angry birds version, Halloween version, and robots version. That really made the hour worth it because the mini games were 5 frames instead of the 10. They also added an additional virtual reality vibe to such a classic activity.
Overall, this place was good for a day time excursion. I’m not so sure how it would be at night, but we loved driving through the town and visiting a local hobby place. I also loved that it was a little off the highway, so we could see what some of the day to day city life looked like...
